Premier Companies is partnering with local schools to give high school students meaningful, hands-on experience in plant operations. In this work-based learning role, you will support customers, assist with plant upkeep, help maintain safe and organized work areas, and learn from experienced team members while continuing your education.
CDL Career Pathway
This position begins as a non-driving opportunity. Participating students will also take CDL classes through and provided by their high school, helping them prepare to become eligible for driving responsibilities after they successfully obtain their CDL and meet all applicable company, age, legal, and insurance requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Follow all safety guidelines and programs established by Premier Companies.
- Assist with requested maintenance of the branch plant, equipment, products, and inventory under appropriate supervision.
- Help keep indoor and outdoor work areas clean, orderly, and ready for daily operations.
- Support customers and promote the business in a positive, professional manner.
- Communicate operational, customer, vendor, or workplace concerns to the Branch Manager or assigned supervisor.
- Provide occasional support to the office and assist with other tasks as needed.

Requirements
Who Should Apply
- Current high school students eligible to participate in their school’s work-based learning program.
- Students enrolled in or planning to complete approved CDL coursework while in high school.
- Dependable individuals who communicate well, follow directions, manage time effectively, and want to learn.
- Students with basic computer skills and an interest in agriculture, transportation, equipment, skilled trades, or plant operations.
- Applicants must be 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to reach, pull, and lift 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to perform repetitive lifting and pulling motions.
- Ability to read documents with fine print and use a keyboard.
- Ability to hear and communicate effectively by phone and in person.
Program Expectations
Students must remain in good standing with their school and comply with the work-based learning plan established by the student, parent or guardian, school, and Premier Companies. Work schedules and assignments will be coordinated with the participating school and will follow applicable safety and youth-employment requirements.
