The Opportunity:
The Multnomah County District Attorney’s (MCDA) Office is seeking an experienced and collaborative IT Supervisor to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the MCDA Network Operations team, which includes Help Desk and Systems Administration services. This role combines leadership, hands‑on technical expertise, and cross‑departmental coordination to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations that support the mission of the District Attorney’s Office.
The ideal candidate is a skilled IT professional who excels in team leadership, process improvement, customer service delivery, and building strong relationships across internal teams, County IT, partner agencies, and vendors. This position is located at the downtown Multnomah County Central Courthouse. The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The essential function of this position includes but is not limited to the following:
Daily Supervision of Network Operations
• Lead and oversee Help Desk and Systems Administration staff.
• Coach, train, and support staff performance and development.
• Participate in recruitment, interviews, and candidate evaluations.
• Establish schedules and ensure coverage for critical IT functions.
• Monitor ticket queues to ensure timely service delivery.
• Improve work processes and procedures for efficiency.
• Assess policies, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Investigate technical and procedural issues and support resolution.
Leadership and Collaboration
• Serve as a liaison between Network Operations, internal teams, County IT, and partner agencies.
• Set team goals aligned with department priorities.
• Build productive relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
• Assist in IT budget development and administration.
• Contribute to resource forecasting and expenditure monitoring.
• Support continuous improvement and long‑term strategic planning.
• Represent the IT Manager when needed.
Incident & Problem Management
• Provide hands‑on support for complex or escalated technical issues.
• Guide team members through troubleshooting and resolution.
• Ensure clear documentation of incident responses and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in root cause analyses and recommend long‑term solutions.
Project Management
• Lead or support IT projects in collaboration with the IT Manager.
• Track timelines, deliverables, and resource needs.
• Report project status, risks, and updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure projects align with organizational objectives.
Hardware & Software Asset Management
• Oversee procurement and inventory of equipment, software, and peripherals.
• Manage license renewals, vendor subscriptions, and warranties.
• Support hardware/software lifecycle planning.
• Generate reports for asset tracking and audit readiness.

TO QUALIFY

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 3–6 years of experience in IT support or systems administration; OR
• 7–10 years of equivalent experience in help desk, systems administration, or related technical roles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Special Qualifications/Transferable Skills:
• Experience leading or supervising an IT team.
• Professional certifications such as CompTIA, ITIL, Microsoft, or Cisco.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, ticketing systems, and similar enterprise technologies.

Type of Position: This salaried management position is not eligible for overtime pay.
