Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Regional Equity Strategist to join our Asia Pacific Equity Research group. This role will support the development of actionable views on APAC equities, integrating macro, policy, earnings, valuation, flows, and cross asset perspectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and publish high quality APAC equity strategy research, covering market outlook, sector and style rotation, valuation frameworks, earnings trends, capital flows, and key macro and policy drivers.
• Generate actionable investment ideas and strategic recommendations for institutional clients, grounded in robust fundamental, quantitative, and macroeconomic analysis.
• Produce regular and thematic publications, including market outlooks, tactical updates, sector deep dives, and cross asset collaborations.
• Build and maintain quantitative models that track key indicators such as liquidity, risk sentiment, earnings revisions, fund flows, and market positioning.
• Collaborate closely with sector analysts, economists, quant teams, and the broader Global Research franchise to integrate cross disciplinary insights into Asia equity strategy.
• Engage actively with institutional clients across Asia Pacific and globally - presenting market views, responding to requests, and delivering bespoke analysis.
• Partner with internal stakeholders, including Sales & Trading and Global Markets leadership, to ensure alignment with client needs and internal risk and compliance standards.
• Represent Bank of America’s equity strategy platform through client meetings, conferences, webinars, and media engagements where appropriate.
Requirements
• Strong academic background in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related disciplines; postgraduate degree preferred.
• 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in equity strategy, macro research, quantitative research, or a similar analytical role within financial markets.
• Solid understanding of Asia macro environment, policy dynamics, equity market structure, and investor landscape.
• Strong grounding in quantitative and econometric techniques, with the ability to apply data driven frameworks to market strategy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear, concise, and commercially relevant research.
• Proficiency in data analytics and modelling; working knowledge of Python, R, or similar tools is advantageous.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, collaborative environment, managing multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and alignment with Bank of America’s commitment to responsible growth.
