Description
Broomfield is hiring year round Recreation Clerks
The Recreation Clerk plays a key front-line role at Broomfield Recreation facilities, serving as a primary point of contact for patrons and supporting daily operations. A day in this role involves working in a fast-paced facility environment, welcoming and directing patrons, staying aware of busy facility schedules and programming, and using recreation management software to assist with registrations, memberships, and daily admissions. This position also follows established processes and cash-handling policies to ensure accurate, efficient service delivery
This is a year round position. Shifts may be scheduled at the Broomfield Community Center, Paul Derda Recreation Center, and The Bay.
Salary range: $16.85–$22.80 per hour
Acts as desk clerk, welcoming and checking-in individuals while directing them to the proper locations.
Answering questions, completing program registrations and processing transactions.
Recreation account maintenance, membership sales and reporting.
Verification of Broomfield Residency, public education on Recreation policies.
Cash handling and reconciliation.
Operating computer to access email and Recreation Software.
Correspondence via phone and email.
Experience
3 months customer service experience in a work environment - required
3 months experience operating a computer in a work environment - required
Experience with cash handling is preferred
Experience in a recreational environment is preferred
Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry.
Must be at least 16 years of age
Work is generally scheduled in advance Sunday through Saturday and may include early morning, daytime, evening hours, and some holidays.
Attend monthly staff meetings in-person as required.
Physical demands are described as sedentary (exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Involves being stationary most of the time but may involve moving or standing for brief periods of time).
Required to operate/use office equipment.
Tasks may require use of a computer for several hours.
Required to communicate and/or detect sounds
The noise level in the environment is moderately noisy.
