## The impact you’ll make
The Supplier Engineer (SE) is responsible for managing supplier quality and technical performance to support Lam Research's semiconductor equipment business. This position partners closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure components and assemblies meet quality, reliability, cost, and delivery expectations. The successful candidate will drive supplier qualification, manufacturing process improvements, quality issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting new product introductions and sustaining production
## What you’ll do
1. Manage supplier quality performance (scorecard) and drive corrective/preventive actions to achieve quality and reliability targets
2. Resolve supplier quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, FMEA, DOE, etc.)
3. Review engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and manufacturing processes to assess supplier capability and risk
4. Partner with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, cost, and manufacturing performance
5. Lead supplier qualifications, capability assessments, quality system, technical capability and manufacturing process audits
6. Support supplier transitions, component qualifications, engineering changes, and NPI activities.
7. Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Field Service teams to resolve technical and quality challenges
## Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical disciplines
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, or related functions
- Knowledge of machining, assembly, metals, coatings, and fabrication processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing and GD&T requirements and assess supplier manufacturing capabilities and process limitations
- Knowledge of structured problem-solving, analytic, project management, communication skills and quality methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, DOE)
- Experience working with suppliers, contract manufacturers, or precision component manufacturers in a manufacturing environment
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work across cross-functional teams and external suppliers
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
