The hourly range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6AM-2:30PM (overtime required based on business needs)
What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.
Job Summary
The Senior Associate, Warehouse Operations applies broad knowledge to ensure the integrity, quality, and accuracy of the facility’s inventory, which can including but is not limited to: controlling inventory adjustments and holds, profiling/sorting incoming product, resolving inbound and outbound discrepancies, purchasing supplies, ensuring timely delivery and processing physical returns. The Senior Associate executes the facility’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) and responds effectively to routine and complex inventory/purchasing control issues.
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferred
2 years of transportation experience preferred
Efficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Teams)
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow-up skills
Prior experience working with Warehouse Management Systems preferred
1-4 years of material handling equipment experience (reach truck, counterbalance, order picker) preferred
Responsibilities
Reviews and optimizes customer orders in Warehouse Management Systems before releasing orders to warehouse for picking. Optimization includes consideration for order weight, cube and transportation route density.
Works with Transportation Consultants and Carriers to confirm routes, driver availability and their hours of service, along with equipment availability.
Collaborates with operations team to maintain and confirm customer delivery requirements and any operational needs.
Ensure all rush orders flow are processed according to standard operating procedure
Follows up on customer requests
Drive efficiency and assist in budget accountability, identifies savings opportunities
Acts as a cross-functional resource capable of supporting multiple departments based on business needs.
Demonstrates flexibility in work assignments, scheduling, and daily priorities.
Serves as a subject matter resource for associates and assists leadership with operational initiatives and process improvements.
Supports a culture of safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
