Are you an experienced radiologic technologist ready to take your clinical expertise to the next level? University Health is seeking a Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA) to join our Medical Imaging team and serve as an advanced-level physician extender under the supervision of board-certified radiologists.

This is an opportunity to practice at the top of your RRA scope while providing comprehensive patient care, performing diagnostic fluoroscopic examinations, and supporting selected image-guided and interventional procedures across University Health Medical Imaging locations.

The Opportunity

As an RRA, you will play a critical role in expanding imaging capacity and supporting timely, high-quality patient care. By providing coverage for fluoroscopy and select light interventional procedures, you will help radiologists focus their expertise on complex diagnostic interpretation and advanced interventional and vascular cases.

Working collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals, you will bring advanced clinical judgment and technical expertise to every patient encounter.

What You’ll Do

• Provide advanced patient care and clinical support under the supervision of a board-certified radiologist.

• Perform diagnostic fluoroscopic examinations and assist with selected image-guided and interventional radiology procedures.

• Participate in patient assessment, procedural planning, and post-procedural management.

• Perform advanced fluoroscopic procedures, venipuncture, and intravenous contrast administration within established protocols.

• Collaborate with radiologists and multidisciplinary care teams to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

• Apply advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, imaging physics, radiation biology, pharmacology, contrast media, and sterile technique.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HIPAA, quality assurance, and patient safety standards.

• Provide coverage across University Health Medical Imaging sites as assigned.

• Practice within applicable state law, institutional policy, and supervising physician protocols.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA) program.

• Current ARRT R.T.(R) and ARRT R.R.A. certification.

• Current state licensure, where required.

• Current BLS certification, maintained throughout employment.

• Several years of clinical radiography experience, including fluoroscopy and advanced imaging experience.

• Demonstrated expertise in patient assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making.

• Advanced fluoroscopic and imaging procedural skills.

• Excellent communication, documentation, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

• Working knowledge of HIPAA and quality assurance principles.

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including prolonged standing, patient movement, equipment transport, frequent bending/reaching, and extended use of lead protective equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree.

• ACLS certification.

• Interventional radiology experience.

• Experience mentoring radiologic technology students or new staff.

• Familiarity with quality assurance and imaging accreditation processes.
