Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric
- National Diploma or Degree in Building, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Short-Term Insurance qualification (advantageous)
- FAIS compliant (advantageous)
- Valid driver's licence
Experience Required
- 3-5 years' experience in building assessments, property claims, loss adjusting, construction, or short-term insurance claims
- Experience assessing building damage and repair costs
- Knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, and materials
- Experience handling insurance claims relating to fire, storm, flood, and break-in damages
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections and damage assessments.
- Investigate claims relating to building and property damage.
- Assess repair and reinstatement costs.
- Compile detailed assessment reports.
- Identify potential fraud indicators.
- Liaise with policyholders, contractors, brokers, and service providers.
- Ensure claims are assessed within SLA requirements.
- Provide recommendations regarding claim settlement.
