Job Description:

  • Lead the implementation of the project field activities in the district through planning and implementation of project activities, follow-up, documentation, supervision, control and monitoring of planned activities within the project, including relationships with district agriculture services authorities, linkage with other projects such as World Vision APs.
  • Carry out project activities to improve agricultural production through the implementation of improved and sustainable agricultural techniques, including the distribution of agricultural inputs, poultry and the formation of farmers groups based on objectives and priorities, in order to benefit vulnerable communities.
  • Be involved and take up leadership on identification and improvement of agriculture production through implementation of drought resilient training techniques.
  • Supervision: Supervise the work of all smallholder farmer in project communities; work closely with the livelihoods TC to train, monitor, deliver project materials, conduct field visits and other project activities.
  • Conduct regular internal review and analysis of project data in coordination with MEAL team to determine progress towards goals and gaps, and develop plans for technical assistance to address the gaps.
  • Establish an effective communication channel with the agriculture, government authorities at district levels throughout the project life to ensure project sustainability by gradually enabling the district government to assume ownership of the project and continuity of its activities beyond end date.
  • Represent the project at partner meetings at the community, district, and provincial levels, ensuring that project activities are well presented.
  • Establish a system of information and feedback mechanism at the project and district level to ensure the dissemination of information related to achievements and challenges encountered in implementing the activities.
  • Participate in weekly Bible study and devotions and encourage the spiritual development of staff and take up tasks as requested by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Good management, supervisory, and capacity building skills needed, presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively in Portuguese and English orally and in writing will be advantage.

Ability to work independently and work under pressure, enthusiastic and self-motivating with interest in Advocacy and well-being. Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity

Ability to use initiative and adopt a proactive approach and to prioritize and manage workload

At least 5 years of experience in livelihoods programming projects and improved and sustainable agricultural techniques.

Experience in supervision and management of multiple tasks; ability to supervise community groups, farmers and leaders.

Proven excellent communication skills (written and oral) required in Portuguese and English.

Excellent computer, data capture and basic analysis skills. Knowledge of Microsoft, Windows, Excel; ability to work in the field in hard conditions.
