Mission Brief
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that our challenging timelines in production will be achieved on a day-to-day basis.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
- Create and maintain executable short- to mid-term production plans that balance demand, capacity, material availability, and delivery commitments.
- Coordinate production activities across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, and Program Management.
- Monitor production execution, identify risks and bottlenecks, and drive timely corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence.
- Manage production order flow within ERP/MES systems from release through completion.
- Prioritize and sequence production orders to optimize throughput, resource utilization, and delivery performance.
- Assess and coordinate the implementation of engineering and design changes from a production perspective, ensuring alignment between ongoing operations, inventory, work-in-progress, and customer commitments.
- Evaluate the impact of change requests on schedules, manufacturing processes, material availability, and production readiness, and drive cross-functional resolution of resulting actions.
- Lead regular production reviews and ensure transparent communication of priorities, constraints, risks, and recovery plans.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, operational efficiency, and execution performance.
Qualification Checklist
- Degree, technician qualification, apprenticeship, or comparable education in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of production planning, manufacturing operations, supply chain processes, and capacity management.
- Knowledge of MRP, inventory management, production scheduling, and shop-floor operations.
- Ability to assess operational impacts of engineering and design changes and coordinate implementation across stakeholders.
- Experience working with ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP) and strong data analysis skills, including Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to balance competing priorities and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach.
- High level of ownership, organization, and adaptability in a dynamic production environment.
- Fluent in German and English.
Bonus Skills
- Experience in aerospace or other high-mix manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of engineering change management (ECR/ECN), configuration management, or product lifecycle management.
- Experience with scenario planning, production recovery planning, and KPI-driven performance management.
- APICS/ASCM (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent operations and supply chain certifications.
- Experience with advanced planning systems, SAP PP, or industry-standard MES solutions.
