This is an opportunity for an experienced commercial banker to take an owner's mindset - bringing together business development, relationship management, credit expertise, and collaborative problem-solving to create vale for our clients, our teammates, and our communities.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Commercial Relationship Manager (CRM) is responsible for growing profitable commercial banking relationships while maintaining exceptional asset quality. Success in this role is measured by the ability to generate new business, deepen existing client relationships, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and proactively manage credit risk.
The CRM is expected to think and act like an owner creating value for clients, teammates, stakeholders, and the communities we serve. Every client interaction should seek to uncover opportunities to help clients achieve their financial objectives while expanding the Bank's relationship through loans, deposits, treasury management, and other commercial banking solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Business Development & Relationship Growth
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with current and prospective commercial clients.
- Develops and manages a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects through purposeful calling and business development activities.
- Conducts regular relationship reviews to understand each client's business strategy, risks, succession plans, and growth objectives and to identify opportunities to strengthen and expand profitable client relationships.
- Collaborates with Treasury Management, Retail, Mortgage, and other product specialists and leverages teammates whenever specialized expertise improves the client solution.
- Represents the Bank in the community through networking, civic organizations, and professional associations.
Asset Management
- Partners with Credit in supporting the growth and development of the loan portfolio with the objective of maintaining strong asset quality.
- Performs regular portfolio reviews.
- Monitors covenant compliance.
- Conducts site visits.
- Recommends appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Assists in managing criticized assets when necessary.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 7 - 10 years of experience as either a Credit Analyst, Portfolio Manager, or Loan Officer.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain commercial client relationships.
- Strong understanding of commercial credit principles and risk management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think beyond your individual role and look for ways to create value for clients, teammates, stakeholders, and the communities we serve.
- Proactive, collaborative, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership.
- Willingness to regularly travel throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area for client meetings, business development activities, and community events.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings for client networking, community, or industry events.
