We’re seeking a dependable and hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our housekeeping and laundry team and help maintain a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment for our residents, families, and guests.
This position oversees daily housekeeping and laundry operations, sets service standards, supports and develops team members, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, leads by example, and understands how a well-maintained community contributes to the resident experience.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry team, ensuring assigned areas are maintained to high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and presentation. This position coordinates staffing and schedules, inspects completed work, trains and supports team members, and helps ensure department operations run safely and efficiently.
The Housekeeping Supervisor works closely with the Environmental Services Director and other departments to respond to community needs, address resident concerns, and maintain a consistent level of service throughout the community. The supervisor is also expected to step in and perform housekeeping duties when needed and lead by example.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Supervise, coordinate, and inspect the daily activities of housekeeping and laundry staff.
- Create staffing schedules based on community needs, apartment size, and workload.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and presentation throughout the community.
- Monitor the quality of housekeeping and laundry services and address areas for improvement.
- Train, coach, and support team members to ensure work is completed safely, correctly, and efficiently.
- Assist the Environmental Services Director with employee performance reviews and department needs.
- Support Environmental Services operations within established budget guidelines.
- Step in to perform housekeeping duties when needed due to staffing shortages or special circumstances.
- Ensure proper use, storage, and care of cleaning products, equipment, and floor-care equipment.
- Respond professionally to resident needs and concerns related to housekeeping and laundry services.
- Promote a respectful, dependable, and team-oriented work environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident, staff, and community information.
- Follow safety, infection control, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Attend required meetings, training, and educational sessions.
- Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent education, training, and experience preferred.
- 3–5 years of housekeeping experience in senior living, residential, hotel, or similar environments.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial cleaning procedures.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, floor-care equipment, and safe equipment operation.
- Ability to create schedules and prioritize work based on staffing and community needs.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards.
- Ability to work cooperatively with residents, families, coworkers, and other departments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, kneeling, stooping, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds independently.
- Ability to use teamwork or appropriate equipment when moving items weighing over 100 pounds.
- May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, unpleasant odors, and occasional unsanitary conditions.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, or varying schedules based on community needs.
