Tenure Track Professor of Biology
The Natural Sciences and Mathematics department at Daemen University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor of biology teaching position starting Fall 2027. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 21 credits of lectures and laboratories primarily in the areas of General Biology, Microbiology, and Immunology to primarily allied-health students. Additional courses in the candidate's area of expertise may also be required. Tenure track faculty will also be responsible for mentoring undergraduate research students and conducting their own research leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals. All applicants must be willing and able to teach in both face-to-face and online modalities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- PhD in Biology, Microbiology, or a related discipline required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience with active learning in a face-to-face modality, preferably at smaller institutions.
- Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with established goals and objectives.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents.
- Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education and mentoring.
- Ability to develop and maintain an active research program involving undergraduate students.
