About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Source, qualify, and secure dry van and reefer capacity across assigned lanes and markets.
• Build long-term relationships with reliable carriers and develop primary and backup capacity within key markets.
• Follow all carrier onboarding, vetting, verification, and approval procedures before tendering freight.
• Use our TMS, carrier-vetting platforms, load boards, tracking tools, and market data to select carriers and execute shipments.
• Verify the carrier, driver, and equipment assigned to each load and immediately escalate discrepancies or signs of fraud, double brokering, or cargo theft risk.
• Negotiate competitive carrier rates while protecting service requirements and margin expectations.
• Build and maintain routing guides based on carrier performance, pricing, lane preference, and equipment availability.
• Provide complete load instructions, monitor shipments through delivery, communicate exceptions early, and maintain accurate documentation in the TMS.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of carrier sales, carrier procurement, dispatch, or truckload brokerage experience.
• Dry van and reefer experience strongly preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with working knowledge of carrier safety, insurance, authority, and fraud prevention.
• Comfort using a TMS, load boards, carrier-vetting platforms, tracking tools, and market-pricing data.
• Ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive freight and remain accountable under pressure.
