Role Description:
The Director, Data Solutions is a senior leadership role accountable for the data modelling, analytics engineering, and business intelligence capabilities within QuadReal’s Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) function. Reporting to the Vice President, ED&A, this role leads the Data Solutions team and owns the data modelling and BI layers of the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP).
The Director leads through people and delivery, and brings credible engineering and BI depth to the role. They build and develop a high-performing team of Data Analyst Leads, analytics engineers, and BI developers, set the direction and technical standards for the function, and translate business needs into trusted data and analytics solutions.
This role suits a technical leader who has come up through engineering or BI and now leads teams, and who excels at cross-functional collaboration, senior stakeholder communication, and project delivery. The Director can clearly articulate the value of the EDP, analytics, and data governance and quality to the business.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & People Development (30%)
Lead, coach, and develop the Data Solutions team, including Data Analyst Leads, analytics engineers, and BI developers.
Set objectives, manage performance, and support career growth across the function.
Structure and resource squads to deliver the data modelling and BI roadmap.
Act as the escalation point and senior technical advisor for the Data Solutions team.
Build a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and quality-first thinking.
Solution Delivery & Roadmap (25%)
Own delivery of data models and BI products on the Enterprise Data Platform (MS Fabric, dbt, Apache Airflow, and Power BI).
Translate business and finance requirements into well-scoped, prioritized solutions.
Manage delivery across concurrent projects, balancing scope, timeline, quality, and cost.
Partner with the Directors of Platform & Integrations and Data Governance to deliver end-to-end outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Value (25%)
Build trusted relationships with senior business, finance, and IT stakeholders.
Translate technical concepts into clear business language and articulate the value of the EDP, data governance and quality, and information management.
Represent Data Solutions in cross-functional forums, steering committees, and prioritization discussions.
Technical Standards & Vendor Accountability (20%)
Define, enforce, and uphold standards for data modelling, analytics engineering, and BI development across all Data Solutions squads.
Review and validate technical designs for major initiatives, ensuring architectural soundness and alignment with enterprise patterns.
Evaluate proposals from consulting partners and technology vendors; hold vendors accountable for quality and delivery.
Champion data quality, documentation, and alignment with data governance best practices, supported by Microsoft Purview.
Experience and Qualifications:
Required Experience
10+ years in data and analytics, analytics engineering, or business intelligence, including 4+ years leading and developing teams.
Hands-on engineering and BI expertise, with direct experience building data models and BI solutions and the technical depth to set standards and review complex work (dbt, SQL, Python, DAX)
Strong command of a modern data stack, including: MS Fabric, dbt, Azure Data Factory, Power BI.
Track record leading teams and delivering complex, cross-functional projects, including finance and corporate reporting initiatives.
Experience evaluating and managing consulting partners and technology vendors.
Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into data and analytics solutions for senior stakeholders.
Degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, or similar.
Preferred Experience
Finance, corporate finance, or accounting domain expertise.
Real estate, financial services, or asset management domain experience.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $150,000 – $180,000.
Based on the position, QuadReal offers a competitive total rewards package in addition to the base pay, which may include a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, pension plan, and paid time off.
