Description
Our client is a global commercial real estate design & build firm that has reinvented how large organizations build out their office space — combining architecture and construction into a single, integrated team. By bringing design and build under one roof, they deliver projects faster and at lower cost than the traditional model of hiring an architect and a general contractor separately.
Their clients are the real estate and facilities leaders of the world's fastest-growing and largest companies — the kind of organizations that need world-class space delivered on a tight timeline. The outbound business development engine behind this growth was built from scratch in London, where a team of callers now generates pipeline across North America. The company is now standing up its first dedicated New York team.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As our first Inside Sales Manager in New York, you'll be the on-the-ground leader of a business development function that's about to plant its flag in the US market. You'll report to and partner closely with the global leader of this function, who built it from the ground up in London and will stay closely involved — visiting New York monthly — while you own the day-to-day.
This is a rare chance to build a team, not just manage one: you'll shape how outbound is done on this side of the Atlantic, hire the people who do it, and become the person the New York org — and its clients — rely on to get it right.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
-
Stand up and lead the company's first New York-based inside sales team, setting the tone, cadence, and standards from day one
-
Recruit, hire, and develop a team of inside sales reps, building the bench as the New York operation scales
-
Drive a high-volume outbound calling motion focused on booking qualified meetings with C-suite and senior real estate/facilities leaders at fast-growth and large enterprise companies
-
Coach your team on call technique, objection handling, and executive-level communication so every conversation reflects well on the brand
-
Manage relationships with internal stakeholders across sales and leadership, keeping New York aligned with the broader global function
-
Own team performance and pipeline output, translating a long-cycle, relationship-driven sales motion into consistent, predictable results
-
Represent the New York team's voice back into the broader organization as the function scales further
REQUIREMENTS
Must-Haves
-
4+ years in an outbound, phone-first sales or business development role (SDR, inside sales, telesales, or similar)
-
2+ years managing a small team (roughly 2–6 people), ideally including some hands-on hiring experience
-
A track record of selling or booking meetings with C-suite and senior decision-makers at $100M+ businesses
-
Executive presence and polish — comfortable representing the brand in high-stakes conversations
-
An operator mindset: energized by building something from scratch rather than optimizing an existing playbook
-
Based in or willing to relocate to New York City, with the ability to be in-office 5 days a week
Nice to Have
-
Background in venture-backed tech (SaaS, sales-led growth companies) or adjacent New York commercial real estate
-
Experience managing through long sales cycles (6–12 months) where patience and consistency matter as much as activity
-
Base salary: $100,000–$130,000, commensurate with experience
-
Commission: 1% of gross profit on all team-generated deals — the same rate paid to individual contributors on the team
-
Given the long sales cycle (6–12 months), commission ramp takes time to build; once the pipeline matures, total year-two on-target earnings are typically $150K+ on top of base
