Where the team fits in
Within Financial Services, the Lending Services team plays a critical role in supporting brokers with the information, systems and guidance they need to assess lending scenarios, recommend suitable lenders and products, and submit quality loan applications that meet regulatory requirements.
The team acts as a trusted support function for the broker network, helping translate lender information into practical system outcomes, improving broker capability, and enabling strong customer and franchisee outcomes.
The Lending Services Team plays a vital role in supporting brokers to efficiently obtain the information they need to assess lending scenarios, recommend suitable lenders and products to clients, and submit loan applications in a way that meets regulatory requirements.
The team supports the network by:
- Receiving, clarifying and interpreting lender product, process, policy and qualification criteria
- Working with third-party provider Simpology to have product changes implemented and maintained in the relevant broker systems
- Providing one-on-one support to brokers on lender products, policy, qualifications, scenario setup and application packaging within Mortgage Choice systems
- Developing resources to support credit application support in systems and the franchise network.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues relating to lender policy, qualification and products
- Delivering credit coaching to help build broker capability and improve understanding of lending policy, credit scenarios and deal structuring
We aim to be an expert, trusted source of support and information for the network, leveraging strong lender relationships and effective third-party partnerships to deliver the best outcomes for franchisees.
What the role is all about
- Interpreting and clarifying product changes, and working with Simpology to coordinate implementation into the relevant broker systems and product catalogue
- Interpreting, clarifying and implementing policy changes in the lender policy database
- Interpreting, clarifying, implementing and testing serviceability and qualification criteria changes in the lender qualification system
- Maintaining lender qualification criteria specifications
- Onboarding new lender product, policy and qualification criteria, including documenting and testing before implementation, and coordinating product-related changes through to release into Mortgage Choice systems
- Supporting the broker network via email, telephone and Lending Advice Forum, responding to enquiries regarding the effective use of broker systems
- Providing SME advice and support to brokers in understanding policy, complex scenarios and deal structuring
- Providing credit coaching to support broker capability uplift and stronger application quality
- Troubleshooting product, policy and qualification issues as they arise, including working with NexGen/Simpology on product-related system issues
- Developing reference resources to help brokers understand and follow best practice processes
- Engaging with the network to promote understanding of the lending process and best practice
- Documenting internal processes as new ones are developed and existing processes change
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with lender representatives and NexGen/Simpology as sources of information, clarification and issue resolution, including periodic review meetings
- Implementing lender responses to audits of information in broker systems
Who we’re looking for
- Well-developed troubleshooting, data analysis and interpretation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with people at different levels and with varying levels of technical knowledge and capability
- Very high attention to detail
- Well-developed prioritisation skills, with the agility to rapidly switch from one task to another
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team
- Strong achievement and results focus, with the ability to anticipate, prioritise and address issues proactively and decisively to ensure work is completed within agreed timeframes
- Accountability for outcomes and a willingness to take ownership
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- 5+ years of experience in residential lending, preferably across multiple lenders
- Prior knowledge of ApplyOnline and/or LoanApp is preferred
