Senior Procurement Buyer

Overview

We are currently on the lookout for a Senior Procurement Buyer to join our PGCS Procurement team.We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products, sourcing ingredients to manufacture more than 1,200 recipes for our brands. We are a global organization, situated in 15 locations across 8 countries offering careers in various functions from Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Finance, R&D, HR, and IT. This is an exciting opportunity to join the global procurement team and play a key role in delivering procurement priorities across the Indirects category, with global spend of over $120m. As procurement continues to evolve, we are focused on strengthening our supplier relationships, driving value, improving compliance, and supporting the business through effective sourcing and commercial management. We are looking for an ambitious, curious, and commercially minded individual who is keen to make an impact, build strong stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the delivery of procurements objectives.

 

As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of indirect spend categories, supporting sourcing activities through the SAP Ariba platform, supplier performance management, contract renewals, and commercial negotiations. You will work closely with budget owners, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure procurement policies are followed, supply risks are effectively managed, and opportunities for value creation are identified and delivered.

The role will also play a key part in supplier partnership and relationship management, analyzing spend data, driving continuous improvement initiatives and digitalization across support center and the plants. This position offers exposure to a broad range of stakeholders and business priorities, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing commercial, operational, and strategic responsibilities.

Reporting to the Procurement Director, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, influencing decisions, solving problems, and delivering tangible business results through effective procurement practices.

 

 

Responsibilities

Procurement- Indirects Category Management

• Execute procurement strategies across indirect spend portfolios
• Manage indirect category portfolios, delivering commercial value, continuity of supply, and stakeholder requirements, collaborating cross functionally
• Manage sourcing activities, including RFQs, RFPs, supplier selection, and contract implementation
• Lead commercial negotiations, pricing reviews, and contract renewals
• Deliver productivity, cost savings, and value creation initiatives. Consolidate global savings and pipeline for AOP
• Monitor market trends and supplier capabilities to identify risks and opportunities

• Provide spend analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and procurement insights to support decision-making
• Monitor supplier cost movements and translate market intelligence into commercial recommendations

• Influence budget owners and cross-functional stakeholders to support commercially sound decision
• Champion procurement policies, GCS controls, compliance requirements, and best practices across the Cork locations and develop an Indirect community to share best practices and learnings with other PGCS indirect buyers across the globe
• GPL for Ariba My Buy embedding the system and processes as well as developing strategy for next phase and optimisation of the solution

 

 

Qualifications

Essential Criteria: 

• Degree in Finance, Business Information Systems, Procurement, Supply Chain or a related discipline
• 5+ years in a multi-national environment
• Knowledge of procurement processes and activities including sourcing, category management, spend base and tools, preferably in a fast-moving food & beverage or manufacturing environment. Ideally experienced in categories such as professional services, IT, MRO, HR/recruitment, energy and other operational services
• Proven experience defining, implementing or influencing digital strategies in a complex business environment
• Strong understanding and experience of governance, process optimisation, business transformation and change management
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into practical solutions
• Highly effective interpersonal, communication and influencing skills across all organisational levels, including executive stakeholders; ability to translate complex topics into clear, concise executive-level communication
• Ability to build credible relationships with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, IT senior stakeholders
• High level of business acumen, with strong understanding of value drivers, cost drivers, risk, service and operational performance.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to identify opportunities, frame decisions and track value delivery
• Organisationally savvy, with the confidence to navigate ambiguity, influence without direct authority and drive progress in a matrix organisation
• Strong systems experience, preferably SAP, power-point, excel with a natural curiosity in AI
