Strength in Trust

OneTrust’s mission is to enable innovation through the responsible use of data and AI. We believe that ensuring data is trusted shouldn’t slow teams down—it should accelerate what’s possible. This led us to develop the first technology platform for responsible data use in 2016. Today, with AI representing the latest and most impactful expansion of data yet, OneTrust is once again redefining what responsible innovation looks like. OneTrust, the AI‑Ready Governance Platform™, unifies regulatory intelligence, automation, and connected governance workflows so businesses can continue to move at the speed of AI while ensuring good governance to prevent data misuse at scale. Trusted by thousands of organizations worldwide, OneTrust is shaping the future where trusted data becomes a transformative force for business and society.

Strength in Trust

OneTrust’s mission is to enable organizations to use data and AI responsibly. Our platform simplifies collecting data with consent and preferences, automates data governance with integrated risk management across privacy, security, IT/tech, third-party, and AI risk, and enables responsible data use by applying and enforcing data policies across the entire data estate and lifecycle. Recognized as a market pioneer and leader, OneTrust serves more than 14,000 customers globally.

The Challenge

We are seeking a strategic, commercially minded Senior Principal / Director, HR Country Manager to serve as the HR leader for our Madrid office, our hub for the EMEA region. This role will be based in Madrid and will provide visible, on-site leadership for the site while partnering closely with local leaders and global People stakeholders on both day-to-day operations and broader business strategy. The role combines executive partnership, strong operational and compliance oversight, and hands-on support for complex people matters in Spain. This leader will also spend part of their time mentoring the current senior HR country leader to help strengthen their capability and develop toward a broader site leadership scope.

Your Mission

To translate business strategy into a Spain people strategy that enables growth, leadership effectiveness, organizational health, compliance, and employee experience for the Madrid site and broader Spain employee population. This leader will ensure that OneTrust’s global People philosophy is applied thoughtfully in Spain while advising leaders on local market realities, regulatory risk, workforce planning, and high-impact people decisions.

You Are

A seasoned HR leader with strong business acumen, sound judgment, and credibility with senior stakeholders. You bring deep expertise in Spanish employment law and labor practices, a track record of leading through complexity and change, and the ability to balance strategic influence with hands-on execution. You are pragmatic, data-driven, and comfortable operating as both a site-level operator and a strategic business partner in a fast-moving, multinational environment.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior in-person HR leader for Spain and the effective HR Manager for the Madrid site, acting as the primary advisor to local leaders on organizational strategy, people risk, workforce effectiveness, and leadership decision-making.
  • Partner with business leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, talent strategy, retention priorities, and organizational change aligned to business goals.
  • Translate global People strategies into Spain market execution that is legally compliant, culturally relevant, and operationally scalable, while ensuring strong partnership across People Business Partnership, People Operations, Payroll, HRIS, Total Rewards, Finance, and Legal.
  • Lead complex employee relations, investigations, disciplinary matters, grievances, restructures, and sensitive exits in Spain, including representing the company at SMAC conciliation proceedings where required and guiding leaders through legally informed decision-making.
  • Own Spain labor and statutory compliance across the employee lifecycle, including employment documentation, policy localization, working time and leave practices, separation requirements and execution, audit readiness, and compliance initiatives such as the establishment and ongoing governance of the Equality Plan for the Spanish entity.
  • Identify and recommend policy, process, and controls updates to mitigate risk and maintain audit readiness.
  • Provide strategic HR leadership for organizational changes, manager capability, team health, and culture, ensuring leaders are equipped to make fair, consistent, and business-aligned people decisions.
  • Use HR metrics and workforce analytics to identify trends, assess organizational health and compliance risk, and recommend actions to improve employee experience, manager effectiveness, and operational performance.
  • Mentor the current HR country partner and local team to help broaden their capability and support their development toward stronger site leadership and support remits.

Minimum Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree in HR, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of Spain employment law, labor practices, statutory compliance, and employee relations frameworks, including experience with sensitive exits, conciliation processes, and practical application of local requirements in a business setting.
  • Direct experience leading Equality Plan design, implementation, governance, and related compliance initiatives within Spain, inclusive of a strong track record representing company interests with employee representative bodies.
  • Strong experience with HRIS platforms and reporting tools; Workday strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort using data to influence executive decisions and improve HR effectiveness; professional HR certification is a plus.
