Description

The Head of General Partner Reporting & Fund Data Governance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing Private Equity Finance operations spanning General Partner (GP) reporting and carry program administration, and PE data governance and reconciliation. This role manages a team of managers and senior individual contributors, setting functional strategy and ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and control integrity of PE financial and data reporting. The SVP will drive strategic process improvement, strengthen control frameworks, and partner closely with Technology to modernize and scale the PE Finance operating model.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Manage, develop, and evaluate direct reports.

  • Set team goals and priorities; conduct performance management, career development planning, and coaching for direct reports and their teams.

  • Build and manage onshore and offshore capacity to support GP reporting and data operations at scale.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the PE Finance function.

GP Reporting & Carry Program Oversight

  • Serve as a key liaison between Finance, HR, Legal, Technology, and business stakeholders.

  • Partner with HR and Legal to coordinate carry and performance fee plan administration across the employee lifecycle — including Notice of Grant issuance, vesting and forfeiture events, leaver/joiner adjustments, and plan participant recordkeeping — ensuring alignment between GP reporting outputs and HR compensation systems globally.

  • Provide senior oversight of carry distributions and capital activity across the carry program.

  • Ensure governing documents remain aligned with legal, tax, and business requirements, and oversee coordination of Notice of Grants issuance with Legal and HR.

  • Oversee quarterly mark-to-market valuation of GP investments and related reporting.

  • Evaluate reporting requirements for new fund launches and ensure readiness of the GP reporting operating model.

  • Oversee GL entries and related processes supporting the monthly close.

  • Support quarterly and annual financial reporting and audit requirements.

PE Data Governance & Controls

  • Partner with technology and Private Markets Fund Finance teams to implement new technology and operating models to support the Private Markets administrator fund data initiative.

  • Provide oversight of PE data reconciliation processes, including daily breaks resolution and third-party reconciliation review.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Technology teams to drive system enhancements supporting carry reporting, data reconciliation, and controls.

  • Lead the design and implementation of new processes and control frameworks across GP reporting and data operations.

  • Evaluate the scalability of the PE Finance operating model, including administrator oversight, as the business grows.

  • Represent PE Finance in cross-functional forums,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field); CPA a plus.

  • 12-15+ years of progressive experience in financial services or asset management, with significant exposure to private equity finance, carry plans, and data/reconciliation operations.

  • Proven people management experience, including leading teams of managers and senior individual contributors.

  • Deep knowledge of PE fund structures, capital calls, distributions, carry mechanics, and GP financial reporting.

  • Strong understanding of financial data systems, controls frameworks, and reconciliation processes.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.

  • Experience partnering with Technology teams on system and process enhancements.

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $250,000-$300,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package.
