As a Guest Services team member at IC Arena, you will serve as a frontline ambassador, helping guests feel welcome, informed, and safe while ensuring a consistent and positive event-day experience.
We are hiring Ticket Takers and Guest Service Ushers. Team members may be assigned to a variety of guest-facing responsibilities depending on the event and staffing needs.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Provide a professional, friendly, and welcoming presence throughout the arena, proactively engaging with guests and offering assistance to help create a positive and memorable experience.
- Utilize hand-held ticket scanners to efficiently and accurately process guest entry while providing a welcoming first point of contact.
- Assist guests with finding assigned seating, suites, concessions, restrooms, and other areas of the facility while providing helpful information and directions.
- Assist guests with accessible seating and other accessibility needs, ensuring all guests feel welcomed, respected, and supported.
- Promote and maintain a safe, comfortable, and family-friendly environment by remaining aware of surroundings and proactively identifying potential guest or operational concerns.
- Enforce arena policies and event procedures in a friendly, fair, and consistent manner, including Stop and Wait for the Whistle, standing behind designated lines on the concourse, and the no-alcohol-outside-the-building policy.
- Communicate potential safety, security, or guest-related concerns to Arena Security or management and assist with resolving issues when appropriate.
- Maintain a positive, approachable, and professional demeanor while demonstrating teamwork, respect, integrity, and passion throughout every event.
- Have fun and help create an energetic, welcoming environment that makes guests want to return.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous customer service experience in retail, hospitality, events, or another guest-facing environment preferred.
- Must be comfortable engaging with guests in a friendly, professional, and proactive manner, including initiating conversations, making eye contact, offering assistance, and maintaining a welcoming demeanor.
- Must be able to remain alert and attentive while standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to occasionally assist with event setup and teardown, including chair setup.
- Must commit to working a minimum of 60% of published/ticketed events each month.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 6–8 hours per shift).
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Must be available to work a flexible event-based schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other scheduled events.
