The UW-Stevens Point Counseling Center is seeking a Part-Time Mental Health therapist to provide short-term counseling, assessment and crises intervention to students experiencing personal, emotional, behavioral, academic or mental health concerns. This position is under the direct supervision of the Director of Counseling Center.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Department: The UW-Stevens Point Counseling Center is currently staffed by 7 permanent clinicians including the Director. Our primary function is to provide individual psychotherapy, group therapy, and crises response to UW-Stevens Point students and education and prevention programming to the campus at large. We are a Counseling Center that affirms diversity, condemns oppression in every form and encourages utilization of our services by all students. To this end, we seek to provide a safe affirming environment for all.
Compensation: Mental Health Therapist part-time (15-20 hours per week) hourly/non-exempt, university staff position. Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting hourly of $50 an hour, commensurate with the candidate’s education, related experience, and qualifications.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in counseling, Clinical Social Work, or Marriage and Family therapy
- Current Wisconsin State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an LPC, LCSW or LMFT. Clinical supervision may be available for individuals working towards licensure.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education mental health setting
- Experience working with young adults
- Experience providing clinical care using teletherapy modalities
- Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems
