Senior Specialist, Sustainable Financial Services

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Specialist, Sustainable Financial Services to join our Group Sustainable Finance team. The role will play a key part in driving the Group's Sustainable Financial Services agenda, working closely with business units and clients to originate, assess and execute sustainable and transition finance opportunities, particularly across the Group's five high-emitting sectors. The Senior Specialist will also provide sustainable finance advisory and execution support to business units and clients in developing practical transition pathways and financing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the origination, assessment and execution of sustainable and transition finance opportunities

• Undertake and provide guidance on ESG eligibility assessments and sustainable finance classifications in accordance with RHB's Sustainable & Transition Finance Framework

• Work closely with business units, relationship managers and credit teams to identify, structure and develop sustainable and transition finance opportunities

• Analyse business models, financing structures, project economics and sustainability considerations to support transaction assessments and recommendations

• Engage directly with clients to understand their sustainability and transition needs and identify potential financing solutions

• Provide advisory and execution support to clients on their sustainability and transition journeys

• Lead the preparation and presentation of proposals, assessments and recommendations to management committees and clients

• Support the development and implementation of sustainable and transition finance products, solutions and strategic initiatives

• Contribute to the Group's financed emissions objectives, governance initiatives and KPI monitoring

• Monitor market, regulatory and industry developments to identify emerging sustainable and transition finance opportunities

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Sustainability or related disciplines

• Around 8–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in Corporate/Commercial Banking, Project Finance, Structured Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Credit Evaluation or Sustainable Finance

• Strong financial, analytical and transaction assessment capabilities, with the ability to understand business models, financing structures and project economics

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

• Experience preparing credit papers, management or committee papers, financial proposals and client presentations

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage with senior management, management committees and clients

• Commercially minded, proactive and able to independently manage multiple assignments and stakeholders

• Sustainable finance or ESG experience would be an advantage, but is not a prerequisite, particularly for candidates with strong banking, financing or transaction experience
