Customer Service Representative

Description

  Surface Prep Supply is seeking an experienced, dependable Customer Service Representative to assist customers and support daily store and warehouse operations. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping customers, working as part of a team, and maintaining an organized and efficient workplace.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
• Assist customers with product selection, sales transactions, and order fulfillment.
• Answer telephone calls and emails and accurately enter customer orders into the computer system.
• Safely load and unload customer and delivery vehicles while minimizing product damage or loss.
• Receive, organize, and put away inventory in the store and warehouse.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
• Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the company’s products.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Assist with special projects and other assigned duties.
• Help ensure a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of customer service experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize work, manage priorities, and pay close attention to detail.
• Previous warehouse experience.
• Experience working with paint, coatings, sandblasting supplies, or related products.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Ability to work between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., as scheduled.
• Ability to successfully complete the company’s required pre-employment screening process.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous forklift operating experience.
• Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish.

Physical Requirements

• The employee must be able to:
• Sit, stand, walk, and drive as required.
• Use hands and arms to reach, handle, and move products.
• Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as necessary.
• Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Safely perform duties in both retail-store and warehouse environments.
