The Opportunity
As an EOPD you will provide strategic, operational, and execution leadership in support of senior executives and leadership teams. As a member of the centralized Technology Chief of Staff organization, this role partners closely with assigned executives, Chiefs of Staff, and business leaders to translate strategy into action, drive execution of key priorities, and ensure successful delivery of organizational objectives.
This role serves as a versatile business partner, operating across business operations, program and project management, process improvement, executive communications, event planning, governance, and special initiatives. While aligned to a specific executive organization, the role is also accountable for contributing to the broader Technology Chief of Staff team by sharing best practices, advancing common standards, driving continuous improvement, and supporting a consistent executive support model across Technology.
Success in this role requires strong business acumen, exceptional organizational skills, proactive problem solving, intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to connect information across teams, priorities, and initiatives. The ideal candidate anticipates needs, learns quickly, operates effectively in ambiguity, and independently drives work forward while building strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following location: San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Facilitates strategic and operational planning, implementation, and execution processes to ensure management is informed of goals, objectives, strategies, priorities, and key deliverables.
- Leads the coordination, execution, and documentation of progress toward achievement of business goals, objectives, strategic initiatives, and action plan results.
- In partnership with assigned Chiefs of Staff, Corporate Communications, and leadership teams, develops and coordinates executive communications, messaging, presentations, and briefing materials in alignment with organizational objectives and leadership priorities.
- Evaluates the relevance and effectiveness of communications for intended audiences and ensures consistency, accuracy, and alignment across communication efforts; identifies opportunities to improve communication processes and approaches.
- Partners with executive management, Chiefs of Staff, and subject matter experts to develop, refine, coordinate, and obtain approvals for executive-level deliverables and materials.
- Supports leadership through research, analysis, and interpretation of internal and external business data, industry best practices, competitive information, and organizational insights to inform decision-making and recommendations.
- Leads the development, coordination, tracking, and timely submission of Executive Leadership Team, Board, Council, Committee, and other leadership-driven deliverables and requirements.
- Manages and coordinates strategic initiatives, programs, projects, executive events, business conferences, and special assignments, ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery of desired outcomes.
- Identifies opportunities to improve business processes, operating routines, governance practices, and organizational effectiveness; supports implementation of sustainable solutions and best practices.
- Builds strong partnerships across Functions, Lines of Business, Centers of Excellence, and leadership teams to support collaboration, alignment, and successful execution of organizational priorities.
- Proactively identifies risks, dependencies, gaps, and opportunities; develops recommendations and action plans to support effective execution and achievement of business objectives.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk, compliance, and governance policies and procedures.
- Contributes to the success of the centralized Technology Chief of Staff organization by sharing best practices, supporting common processes and standards, and partnering with peers to continuously improve executive operational planning services across Technology.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of additional related experience beyond the minimum required.
- 8 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Executive operational planning
- Chief of Staff support
- Program or project management
- Business operations
- Strategic planning
- Organizational effectiveness
- Executive communications
- Change Management
- Experience supporting senior executives and leadership teams in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while delivering high-quality results under tight timelines.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including development of executive-level presentations, reports, and communications.
- Experience facilitating executive meetings, strategic planning sessions, and leadership operating routines.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information, synthesize complex topics, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and collaboration tools.
What sets you apart:
- Experience serving in a Chief of Staff, Executive Operational Planning, Strategy, Business Operations, or Organizational Effectiveness role.
- Experience supporting Executive Council, CEO, Board, Committee, or regulatory deliverables.
- Experience leading business transformation, organizational change, or operational improvement initiatives.
- Experience designing and implementing governance processes, executive routines, or operating models.
- Experience planning and executing executive-level events, leadership forums, and organizational meetings.
- PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Change Management, or related certifications.
- Experience leveraging automation, artificial intelligence, analytics, or workflow tools to improve business processes.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $114,080.00 - $218,030.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
