As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth within a defined customer territory or set of named accounts. You will identify and win new business opportunities while growing existing customer relationships through cross-sell and up-sell activities across Agilent's portfolio. This is a highly customer-facing role, requiring strong commercial acumen, relationship management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders to deliver customer success.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage a defined territory and/or portfolio of named accounts to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and customer engagement.
  • Grow existing customer relationships through up-selling and cross-selling of Agilent products, solutions, services, and consumables.
  • Spend the majority of your time engaging directly with customers throughout the sales cycle.
  • Lead opportunities through all stages of the sales process, including opportunity development, solution development, negotiation, closing, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Coordinate with Product Specialists, Market Specialists, Applications Engineers, Field Application Scientists, Technical Support Specialists, and other internal teams to support customer needs and sales activities.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and accurate opportunity forecasts.
  • Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term account growth.
  • Drive balanced business performance across multiple product lines and strategic priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records and sales activities within CRM systems.

Qualifications


Qualifications

Must Have
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in sales, account management, business development, customer-facing commercial roles, or related experience.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple customer priorities and opportunities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for delivering customer value.
  • Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
Nice to Have
  • Experience within life sciences, diagnostics, analytical instrumentation, laboratory environments, medical devices, or related industries.
  • Experience working in a consultative or solution-selling environment.
  • Knowledge of CRM tools and pipeline management best practices.
  • Post-graduate qualification, technical certification, or relevant professional license.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
