Overview
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Branch Director, the Athletic & Wellness Director plans and executes athletic programs, leagues, camps, health and wellness, and nutrition programs. The Athletic & Wellness Director supports our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character and Citizenship of our members. Athletic programs aim to teach members the fundamentals of a variety of sports, teamwork, sportsmanship, healthy lifestyles, good character and leadership. Safety is the number one priority of the Athletic & Wellness Director.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Due to relationships with members, staff and volunteers, a minimum of 2 years commitment is recommended is recommended. Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External: Maintains contact as needed with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
Qualifications
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Preferred a 4 year college degree and/or a minimum of 2 years of equivalent/relevant work experience based on the Athletic & Wellness development needs of youth ages 7 – 18 years old.
- Strong communication skills, understanding fo group dynamics.
- Demonstrated organizational and project management abilities.
- Basic knowledge of updating and managing websites.
- Abilities to repair technology equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated knowledge of audio/visual equipment us (projectors, screens, televisions, security systems etc).
- Mandatory CPR, First Aid, AED Certifications.
- Valid Driver’s License and clear driving record.
- Ability to learn and teach the common understandings of Athletic & Wellness programs, coordinating leagues and camps.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Use of hands, upper extremities, feet and lower extremities for athletic abilities.
- Manual dexterity to repair equipment
- Ability to lift 25 – 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand and walk to supervise members.
- Noise level in work environment varies from very quiet to very noisy based on attendance.
- Supervision of large, medium, and small groups is required. BGCCV staff ratio is 1 adult per 20 members.
