Analyst, IT (Business Analysis)

You will play a key role in shaping requirements, improving processes, supporting Agile delivery, and ensuring successful implementation across the organization.

Key responsibilities

Business Analysis & Solution Design

• Engage business stakeholders to identify, analyse, and prioritise business needs through structured information gathering and analysis.

• Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.

• Develop strong, defensible business cases and articulate the business impact, benefits, risks, and value of proposed solutions.

• Collaborate with Product Owners to create, refine, and prioritise product backlogs using Agile practices.

• Define business-driven acceptance criteria and support delivery teams throughout the development lifecycle.

• Analyse current-state processes and design future-state processes, identifying opportunities for automation and digital transformation.

• Ensure solutions align with Scoot IT’s approved applications, architecture, and processes, while incorporating industry best practices.

Agile Delivery & Project Management

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Release Planning.

• Manage project timelines, scope changes, dependencies, and costs to ensure successful delivery.

• Ensure stakeholders are informed, prepared, and trained prior to solution deployment.

• Coordinate and document project meetings, decisions, approvals, and action items.

• Support solution design reviews, integrations, and project governance forums such as Steering Committees or Product Councils.

• Ensure proper change management, deployment readiness, and compliance with security assessments and controls.

• Plan, execute, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), track defects, and ensure timely resolution.

• Ensure all project and solution documentation is complete, accurate, and approved.

Stakeholder Management

• Proactively identify and manage key stakeholders across business and technology teams.

• Align stakeholder expectations with organisational objectives, scope, and delivery constraints.

• Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring transparent communication and strong stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.

• Strong capability in business requirements analysis, process mapping, and functional specification development.

• Hands-on experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and managing product backlogs.

• Solid understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and project delivery practices.

• Experience supporting UAT, change management, and solution deployment.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess business impact, risks, and cost-effectiveness of solutions.

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including business users, developers, QA, and project managers.
