# Role Summary: Operations Lead

We are seeking an experienced Operations Lead to drive operational excellence and lead a dynamic team in our fast-paced trading environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in C++ with leadership capabilities to optimize infrastructure, ensure system reliability, and support high-performance trading operations.

# Responsibilities

### Team & Stakeholder Leadership

* Lead a team of 3–4 operations professionals and collaborate cross-functionally with developers, system administrators, quants, and traders.

* Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure operational stability and seamless deployment processes.

### DevOps Automation & System Engineering

* Develop deployment pipelines, automate configuration management, and build operational tooling for infrastructure optimization.

* Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

### Technical Excellence & Development Standards

* Drive code reviews and establish engineering best practices across operational systems.

* Maintain technical documentation and ensure consistency in deployment and DevOps standards.

### System Operations & Performance

* Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance for high availability, scalability, reliability, and security.

* Support low-latency and high-throughput trading systems.

### Incident Management & Troubleshooting

* Lead incident response and troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and system-level issues.

* Implement preventive automation and monitoring solutions to minimize recurring incidents.

### Strategic Technical Leadership

* Contribute to infrastructure architecture decisions and operational scalability planning.

* Stay updated with industry trends, DevOps practices, and high-performance system engineering.

### Reporting & Continuous Improvement

* Track operational metrics and KPIs and report progress to leadership.

* Continuously improve operational processes and automation capabilities.

# Qualifications & Experience

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.

* Minimum 5 years of Software Engineering experience, including at least 2 years in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or System Operations roles.

* Strong experience working with complex distributed systems and production environments.

* Excellent knowledge of cloud technologies, containers, and orchestration platforms.

* Strong proficiency in C++ programming with hands-on experience in developing high-performance and scalable systems.

* Proven experience in C++ development, including multithreading, low-latency systems, memory optimization, and performance tuning.

* Experience with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.

* Proficient in using Git for version control.

* Experience with scripting and automation using Python/Bash is an added advantage.

* Experience with Nagios or similar monitoring and alerting systems.

* Experience working in trading firms, fintech companies, or financial services environments.

* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.

* Understanding of networking protocols and system administration.

* Exposure to backend/frontend development for operational tooling.

* Knowledge of SQL and database management.

* Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
