Lead Engineer – Seat Structure

Group Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

·        Lead end-to-end design and development of seat structures and mechanisms, ensuring manufacturability, packaging feasibility, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements (AIS, ECE, FMVSS).

·        Create and review 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups as per standard design practices.

·        Perform kinematic/motion studies, engineering calculations, and validation including physical testing support.

·        Collaborate with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams; conduct design reviews and resolve technical queries.

·        Manage product data in PLM/Teamcenter and ensure timely closure of issues and delivery as per PDP milestones.

·        Prepare SORs, maintain lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

·        Mentor team members, ensure workload planning, quality checks, and adherence to processes and safety standards.

·        Ensure clear communication of deliverables and flexibility to support cross-BU activities and travel requirements.

Requirements:

·        Experience in automotive seat structure design.

·        Strong CAD, GD&T, and PLM/Teamcenter expertise.

·        Knowledge of regulatory standards, kinematics, and engineering fundamentals.

·        Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualification, Experience & Skills and Competencies:

(Min & Max, industry) : 8 + Years experienced, Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/production/Automobile Engineering
