Description
Shortica is a next-generation mobile streaming platform dedicated to short-form series
content. Think Netflix, but designed from the ground up for bite-sized, addictive storytelling.
Our platform delivers premium short-form series with studio-quality video playback, seamless
streaming, and a mobile-first experience that keeps audiences coming back for more.
We are building on a modern tech stack including Flutter, Kubernetes, and GCP. Join us at an
early and exciting stage where your work will directly shape the product.
We are looking for a skilled Mobile Developer with strong Flutter expertise and a deep
understanding of both iOS and Android platforms. You will be instrumental in building and
refining Shortica’s mobile application, with a particular focus on video playback, streaming
performance, and delivering a polished, pixel-perfect user experience.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance the Shortica mobile application using Flutter, targeting
both iOS and Android platforms.
• Implement and optimize video player functionality, including streaming playback (HLS),
background playback, and adaptive bitrate streaming.
• Work with native platform APIs (AVFoundation on iOS, ExoPlayer/Media3 on Android).
• Collaborate closely with the backend team to integrate RESTful APIs, real-time features,
and push notifications.
• Ensure a high-quality, responsive UI/UX with smooth animations, intuitive navigation,
and pixel-perfect implementation of design specs.
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code. Participate in code reviews and
contribute to engineering best practices.
• 5+ years of professional native mobile development experience (iOS and/or Android).
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Flutter and Dart.
• Experience with video playback and streaming on mobile applications (HLS, adaptive
bitrate, AVPlayer/ExoPlayer).
• Strong understanding of both iOS and Android platforms, including their lifecycle,
navigation patterns, permissions, and platform-specific behaviors.
• Familiarity with state management solutions in Flutter (Riverpod).
• Experience with app store submission processes and release management for both iOS
and Android.
• Experience with video infrastructure platforms.
• Familiarity with Node.js for backend development and writing RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience with Redis for caching.
• Understanding of content delivery networks (CDNs) and video encoding/transcoding
workflows.
What We Offer
• An opportunity to shape a product from the ground up at an exciting early stage.
• Work with a cutting-edge tech stack.
• A culture that values code quality, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
