Minimum: $77,432 • Midpoint: $92,377
- Establishes and maintains the daily staff schedule to provide adequate classroom coverage.
- Arranges for back-up coverage for absent staff through assignment of Child Care Workers and through temporary reassignment of existing classroom staff in coordination with the Teacher-Team Leader.
- Provides supervision to staff at the Child Development Center, along with active involvement of the Child & Youth Development Director on key personnel decisions.
- Facilitates completion of annual staff evaluations with active input from the Teacher-Team Leader in connection with classroom staff.
- Maintains records and documentation needed for annual DHS Licensing visit.
- Coordinates the efforts of Center staff, parents and board members in successfully completing the NAEYC Reaccreditation process according to established timeframes.
- Facilitates development of an annual Center calendar that takes into account key program activities, required trainings, home visits and parent-teacher conferences.
- Schedules required child screening services to be performed on-site. Schedules and facilitates monthly PALS team meetings during the school year.
- Works with the contracted HACAP Family Support Worker to hold parent group meetings during the school year. Facilitates completion of a monthly parent newsletter.
- Makes purchases of supplies and materials needed for immediate program operation.
- Follows up on facility issues using established County processes.
- Works as part of a Child Enrollment team to fill child openings in order to meet funding source requirements.
- Provides tours of the Center to newly enrolling parents.
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development or related early childhood education degree.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a licensed or accredited early childhood program is required (experience must have occurred during the past five (5) years).
- Mandatory Training for Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse.
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Fulfill DHS licensing requirement for an updated physical health exam every three (3) years including no record of child abuse or neglect and no record of criminal offense which DHS determines to be a disqualification for state licensing.
- Licensure from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners for teaching at the Pre-Kindergarten level desirable, but not required.
- Valid State of Iowa Driver's License is required.
