Head of Enterprise Capability, Pacific
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marsh People & Investments team at Marsh, Pacific. This role will be based in Melbourne or Sydney.
This newly created role will lead the development of an enterprise-wide capability approach, looking across all capability areas and technical training needs for the organisation. Risk capability is the first priority area, but it won't be the only one — the remit will broaden to cover technical capability and training needs across the wider business over time. You will work closely with business and functional leaders to assess capability needs, curate technical learning pathways, and deliver practical solutions that support capability maturity, culture uplift, and performance across the organisation.
Initially sitting within the Transformation Team, you will help shape scalable capability frameworks, governance, content, and measurement approaches that are designed from the outset to support capability and technical training development across the whole organisation, not just risk.
We will count on you to:
- Lead the design and delivery of a capability curriculum — beginning with risk capability — that builds technical skills and knowledge across all levels, with the curriculum expanding over time to cover broader capability and training needs across the organisation
- Assess capability gaps and translate findings into structured learning pathways aligned with organisational priorities
- Develop capability frameworks, competency models, governance standards, and reporting processes that support consistent delivery
- Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, and teams across Marsh Pacific to co-design solutions and embed learning into day-to-day work
- Oversee the curation and delivery of learning content using internal expertise, external partnerships, and blended learning methods
- Design evaluation approaches that measure learning outcomes, capability uplift, and business impact, and use insights to refine programmes
What you need to have:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in capability development, learning and development, organisational development, or a similar strategic HR or talent function, ideally gained across multiple business areas or capability disciplines rather than a single technical domain
- Proven capability in designing and delivering technical learning or capability programmes from concept through to implementation
- Experience working across matrixed organisations and engaging a wide range of stakeholders
- Well-developed communication, analytical, and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
What makes you stand out:
- Experience in risk, compliance, or financial services, or another regulated environment
- Background in curriculum design, competency modelling, or enterprise capability frameworks
- Experience using digital learning platforms, blended delivery methods, or technology-enabled learning solutions
Why join our team:
- We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders
- We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities
- Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being
