Senior CNC Machinist

 Location: Boulder, CO
Shift: Day Shift
Pay: $31.55–$41.42/hour

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to produce high-precision prototype and production parts in an advanced manufacturing environment.

This role requires strong experience with CNC milling, CNC turning, manual machining, programming, GD&T, precision inspection, and prototype machining. The Senior Machinist will work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production to manufacture complex parts and improve machining processes.

What You’ll Do

• Set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers.
• Perform manual machining using conventional mills and lathes.
• Machine prototype and production parts from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Create and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and GD&T.
• Select tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools and CMM equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining and quality issues.
• Recommend process improvements to reduce setup time and improve efficiency.
• Work with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to solve technical problems.
• Provide guidance to less experienced machinists when needed.

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of machining experience.
• Strong CNC milling and turning experience.
• Experience with both prototype machining and production manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• Strong understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds, and material properties.
• Ability to independently set up and troubleshoot complex machining jobs.

• Haas CNC machines and controls
• GibbsCAM or similar CAM software
• High-mix, low-volume manufacturing
• Prototype machining
• CMM inspection or programming
• Manual machining
• Machining trade school, apprenticeship, or related technical training
• Strong shop math and trigonometry skills

Compensation

The pay range for this Senior CNC Machinist position in Boulder, Colorado is $31.55–$41.42 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
