Front-End Engineer

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Low-Code Application Development and Integration Specialist to join our IT team in Portugal.

The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in designing, developing, and deploying applications on both Mendix and/or SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

This role is crucial for accelerating our digital transformation by creating agile and innovative solutions that integrate seamlessly with our existing SAP ecosystem.

Your Main Responsibilities:

• Application Design and Development:
  • Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable business applications using Mendix and/or SAP BTP platforms (including services like SAP Build Apps, Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), etc.).
  • Collaborate closely with business teams to understand their needs, translate functional requirements into technical specifications, and propose innovative solutions.
  • Participate in all phases of the implementation  lifecycle, from requirements analysis to production deployment and support.
• System Integration:
  • Ensure seamless integration of developed applications with our existing SAP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC..) and other third-party applications, utilizing Mendix's integration capabilities, SAP BTP (SAP Integration Suite), and other API technologies.
  • Define and implement effective and secure integration strategies.
• Maintenance and Evolution:
  • Provide corrective and evolutionary maintenance for existing applications on Mendix and SAP BTP.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure compliance with security and quality standards.
• Technical Expertise and Monitoring:
  • Act as a technical expert for Mendix and SAP BTP within the team, sharing best practices and mentoring other team members if necessary.
  • Continuously monitor technological advancements in low-code platforms and the SAP ecosystem to propose continuous improvements.
• Documentation and Testing:
  • Write technical and functional documentation for developed applications.
  • Perform unit and integration testing, and participate in user acceptance testing.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Higher education degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum 3 years of significant experience in application development, with a strong emphasis on low-code platforms.
• Mendix Expertise: A Must

• • Proven expertise in developing and implementing applications with the Mendix platform.
  • Proficiency in Mendix concepts (domain models, microflows, pages, widgets, integrations).

• SAP BTP Expertise: Preferable

• • Proven expertise in developing and implementing applications with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Knowledge of key SAP BTP services (e.g., SAP Build Apps, SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), SAP Integration Suite, SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Analytics Cloud).

• SAP Knowledge:

• • Good understanding of key concepts and modules within the SAP ecosystem (e.g., SAP ERP,EWM,  SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori ) to facilitate integrations. "Expert" level knowledge of SAP functional modules is not required, but a solid understanding of SAP data and processes is essential.

• General Technical Skills:

• • Knowledge of integration principles (SOAP APIs, XML…).
  • Familiarity with relational databases and data modeling concepts.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Node.js) is a plus for pro-code extensions on BTP.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban).
• Languages: Fluent English, French is a plus (both written and spoken).
