This role is in office Monday to Thursday
The Role:
Blue Owl GP Strategic Capital purchases minority equity stakes in alternative asset managers across private equity, private credit, real estate, and infrastructure. The GP Stakes Value Creation Group (“VCG”) is its dedicated post-investment team, providing strategic advisory services to these partner firms to help them achieve their goals. VCG works with partner firms on initiatives including fundraising and client development, business strategy and growth, and digital transformation and optimization.
Through this two-year rotational program, the Analyst will gain hands-on experience across VCG’s pillars, working closely with senior VCG leaders on partner consulting engagements. The Analyst will conduct research and analysis and develop recommendations to address partner firms’ strategic priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with VCG pillars on strategic initiatives that help leading alternative asset managers grow and strengthen their businesses, spanning client development and marketing, corporate strategy and M&A, human capital, ESG and business resilience, operations and IT, AI, data science, procurement, and private wealth.
- Conduct peer benchmarking, investor mapping, operational assessments, and thematic research to inform partner firms’ strategic priorities.
- Analyze large industry and portfolio datasets to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Develop financial and strategic analyses in Excel and create PowerPoint presentations, including business plans, marketing materials, and recommendations for partner firms.
- Build proprietary playbooks across VCG pillars to share insights and best practices with partner firms.
- Contribute research, analytics, and graphics to whitepapers, newsletters, and other industry thought leadership.
- Track partner engagement activity, maintain CRM records, research service providers, and develop internal resources.
- Manage multiple workstreams across partner engagements and special projects, coordinating with senior team members and external stakeholders to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree with strong academic credentials and 1–2 years of experience in investment banking, asset management, management consulting, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced Excel proficiency and the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations.
- Demonstrated AI knowledge and interest to continually improve processes and productivity using AI tools
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Self-starter who takes ownership, demonstrates initiative, and exercises sound judgment.
- Intellectual curiosity about private markets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and external stakeholders.
- Collaborative team player eager to learn and contribute across a broad range of projects and business functions.
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be 95,000 to 105,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
