The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) organization is looking to hire a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to serve as the LRSO Production program Lead Systems Engineer (LSE). This role requires a technical leader who will ensure system compliance to contractual requirements, facilitate cross-disciplinary integration, and drive system-level production success. The successful candidate will act as a key technical resource across production, collaborating with internal teams, leadership, and external customers to deliver innovative production solutions aligned with program objectives. The Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) will work directly with the portfolio LSE as well as other LSEs within the Strike Initiatives portfolio as an apprentice. The LSE will be a member of the Office of the Chief Engineer.
What You Will Do
- Communicate to Raytheon leadership to provide technical program status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed, while influencing the IPTs/CPTs to ensure appropriate and effective program alignment and teamwork. Provide guidance to multiple teams of multi-disciplined engineers in support of product development and production.
- Interact and coordinate with program stakeholders, including program customers, government organizations, industry partners, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to influence and guide program development & production efforts.
- Rapidly assimilate and apply knowledge in varied and disparate technical fields to achieve balanced system performance.
- Accurately interpret internal and external customer requirements and objectives, effectively decomposing such into actionable direction to the Raytheon program team and stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate both immediate and strategic risks by making decisions that balance required and desired technical capabilities against execution goals.
- Support the capture of new business and influence technical and product line roadmaps, ensuring they are reflected in program planning and execution
- Plan out and lead the incremental break-in of upgrades and system improvements
- Help drive positive change within the production environment as a key stakeholder in Failure Review Boards, FRACAS activities and other continuous improvement efforts
- Serve as the key source of system and product knowledge, including design, performance capabilities, and operational considerations.
- Support regular customer engagements, including weekly meetings with customer counterparts, as well as briefings with program leadership and Strategic Business Unit (SBU) leadership.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to early-career engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience.
- Raytheon Level 4 (or higher) Certified Lead Systems Engineer
- Experience leading transition to production or production of complex system architectures
Qualifications We Prefer
- An advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related discipline
- Raytheon Level 3 (or higher) Certified Lead Systems Engineer
- 12 or more years of relevant work experience including prior experience in a technical leadership role and including experience across the development and production lifecycle
- Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Experience across the product lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, production; as well as with test/support equipment
- Ability to develop effective internal and external customer/stakeholder relationships to ensure customer/stakeholder satisfaction and continued business

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
