The Director of RNI Service Line Development will lead the strategic and operational direction of the institute’s institutes clinical programs and financial performance to ensure the successful execution across all missions. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring patient-centric care. The Director will function in a matrixed structure reporting to the market Chief Medical Officer and the RNI Vice Chair of Clinical Operations and System Integration or their designees. The incumbent will serve as the administrative leader with clinical oversight of all specialty practices within the Institute serving as the bridge between the Institute and local market leadership. The Director is charged with developing and managing a hub and spoke model for the market, establishment of multi-disciplinary models of care, facilitation of tele-medicine services and sub-specialty outreach clinics to the market.This role ensures high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, financial sustainability, and compliance with regulations across multiple clinic locations. Oversees day-to-day operations, staff management, service line development, patient experience initiatives, and budget management within the ambulatory care setting. This role is responsible for supporting the financial, administrative, and operational management of the institute , both locally and at system locations, on applicable policies, rules, and procedures established by UHA, WVU, WVUF, WVU Research Corp, and WVUHS. Works directly with the CMO and RNI Vice Chair to prepare institute vision, including recruitment and staffing needs, outreach opportunities, and resource management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, or related field AND Six (6) years of management or progressive administrative experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree AND Eight (8) years of management or progressive administrative experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Master’s degree in healthcare administration or advanced degree in Healthcare related field and six (6) years of experience in neurosciences. .
2. Bachelor’s degree Business or Healthcare Administration.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience in a large multi-specialty or single-specialty physician group practice, a vertically integrated health system, or multi-site physician practice.

1. Develop and execute the clinical operations strategy aligned with WVU Medicine and WVU Health System missions and objectives.
2. Serve as a key member of the Institute and Market leadership team, contributing to high-level strategic planning and decision-making.
3. Responsible for overall operations and management of institute clinic(s) and hospital-based services within the market. as applicable to include all staff and provider productivity, room utilization, patient safety and capital/equipment maintenance and budgeting.
4. Oversees the Clinical functions as it relates to Faculty, Provider, Staff and patients. Manages and optimizes patient access for all clinics for the institute within the market. institute Responsible for the successful operation for both the clinic settings and main office and ensure compliance with the required governing bodies.
5. Conduct regional market analyses to drive strategic planning process for the Institute in the region.
5. Using a nimble lens, generate ideas for process improvement, institute growth and data optimization of operations.
6. Develop and manage the annual operating budget for all patient services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
7. Responsible for personnel management of staff in coordination with human resources, including interviewing and hiring, performance evaluations and goals, coaching and counseling employees, problem resolution, Promotion and Tenure process, and possible termination of employment.
8. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement operational changes to optimize efficiency and patient satisfaction.
9. Lead cross-functional teams to implement new initiatives and operational improvements across all institute ambulatory sites.
10. Champion patient-centered care initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and loyalty.
11. Develop and implement strategies to streamline patient access, reduce wait times, and improve the overall patient experience.
12. Actively engage with patients and staff to gather feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
13. Oversee and manage any employment of Faculty, Residents or ancillary staff that requires authorization to work by obtaining appropriate Visa. Coordinates processes with WVU Office of International Students and Scholars to ensure compliance with U.S. Immigration and Customs.
14. Enforcement/Institute of Homeland Security policies and procedures.
15. Assists Faculty Search Committee. Acts as institute EEOC/Affirmative Action Officer, ensuring compliance with federal regulations regarding recruitment and hiring.
16. Oversees or administers the Leave System/Benefits for all Faculty.
17. Works with Institute leaders and market leadership to ensure provider compensation is market competitive while aligning with UHA internal equity standards.
18. Responds to requests; explores and resolves problems as presented by institute faculty related to Faculty Compensation, Faculty Appointment Letters, UHA Professional Services Agreements, and Faculty Benefits.
19. Directs the institute staff in support of initial and ongoing credentialing and re-appointment with the Medical Staff Affairs office, and any satellite hospitals as needed to ensure licensing, DEA certification, credentialing and participation in UHA payer contracts are in process. 19. Directs all institute computer/ tech concerns and coordinates with IT as needed. Acts as a liaison between the institute and the HSC including oversight of EPIC implementation, IT training and compliance for all providers and staff, determine hardware and software needs of the institute and assures those needs are met within the appropriate guidelines and designated budget.
20. Facilitates internal and external communications for the institute.
21. Evaluates and oversees the financial performance of the institute regarding cost-effectiveness, efficiency, including viability of satellite clinics and any other special projects. Prepares detailed annual budget and monthly reports, evaluates impact, and monitors budgetary compliance and progress for all institute activities. Presentation of institute budget to various leaders.
22. Monitors billing and reimbursement activity, analyzing the data pertaining, but not limited to billing practices, billing and diagnostic codes and payor mix, documentation review to assure optimal revenue is being obtained from services rendered and in accordance with regulatory guidelines, responsible to communicate with staff and faculty pertinent information.
Acts as institute liaison and represents the institute’s needs in various group meetings. Involved with institute community outreach effort on behalf of satellite clinics.
