About the Role
The Product Development Technician is an entry to intermediate laboratory technician who will be focused on product development, laboratory testing, pilot plant trials, data reporting, laboratory operations and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The role requires strong laboratory discipline, safety awareness, analytical skills, and the ability to support innovation projects while working closely with scientists, engineers, and plant personnel. Success in the role depends on reliable execution of experiments, accurate documentation, teamwork, and continuous learning. The incumbent will be involved in preparing TiO2 samples and panels for customers as well as aiding in developing/updating test formulas and procedures.
- Maintain laboratory materials, equipment, safety standards, and cleanliness
- Develop laboratory and pilot-scale prototypes for new products and product improvements
- Conduct research, testing, and experimental work in laboratory, pilot plant, and operational plant settings
- Preparation of TiO2 samples
- Execute standard and modified testing procedures and processes
- Plan and organize assigned work within project and testing schedules
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel regarding equipment repairs and modifications
- Support senior scientists and engineers on projects and plant trials
- Record, analyze, and report experimental data, observations, and conclusions and occasionally documenting records in a report
- Assist with improving testing methods, techniques, and laboratory equipment
- Participate in training activities and provide guidance to junior technicians
About You
- This position requires a general education acquired through obtaining a high school diploma including completion of a high school level general chemistry lecture course, general chemistry laboratory and algebra II course or a BS degree in physical/natural sciences.
- The incumbent should have good working knowledge of a lab environment and be able to perform various tasks by following safety procedures /guidelines. They must be able to pay attention to finer details during experimentation and needs a good discipline approach and planning capabilities.
- Incumbents must have a working knowledge of basic spreadsheet and word processing software applications. The position also requires the ability to communicate effectively, work in a team environment and have flexibility as to assigned duties.
