APD is seeking a CAD Technician to work in a growing mechanical engineering department. This position will assist with producing mechanical CAD drawings for retail, restaurant, public infrastructure and facilities, recreation, education, and residential, with a heavy emphasis on retail design. This position will assist with producing mechanical CAD drawings for retail, restaurant, public infrastructure and facilities, recreation, education, and residential, with a heavy emphasis on retail design. Key Responsibilities
- Provide CAD support in preparing construction drawings for new and renovated buildings throughout the U.S., under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
- Contribute to project success, working under the direction of mechanical design team members.
- Contribute to improving company standards, design and drafting tools, attitude, and success.
- This position involves prolonged periods of desk-based work and computer use.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Strong understanding of construction documents and industry standards.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong computer skills with excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous design experience with a mechanical engineering firm or client.
- Experience with the latest versions of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Understanding of engineering practices.
- Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
- Associates degree in related design or engineering field.
