As Senior Manager, Strategic Insights, you will help shape the future of our Tools & Outdoor business by delivering actionable market and competitive insights across North America with focus on commercial retailers and channels, both targeting the Professional Contractor and DIY consumers. In this role, you will lead a team that will partner closely with cross-functional and regional teams to identify trends, assess market dynamics, and translate shopper insights into clear recommendations that inform strategic and commercial decisions.
You will:
- Leverage sales performance and shopper understanding to develop strategic and actionable insights for SBD Brands targeted to the Professional User & DIY Homeowner with our Retailer partners
- Lead acquisition and synthesis of insights from various sources of data (e.g. POS, shopper panels, primary research)
- Provide a deep understanding of business growth drivers; identify trends and opportunities for new sources of growth
- Monitor retail and E-commerce trends and competitive dynamics.
- Regularly create and take part in activities with consumers and shoppers to understand the why behind behavior
- Optimize Brand Communication Plans to reach the Professional Market
- Provide a deep understanding of business growth drivers; identify trends and opportunities for new sources of growth
- Build and implement learning plans to address most critical questions for the business
- Make recommendations grounded in consumer and market knowledge, guided by a broader understanding of consumer, customer, and channel insights
- Drive Channel & Retailer business growth drivers and identify trends and opportunities for new sources of growth
- Provide a deep understanding of business growth drivers; identify trends and opportunities for new sources of growth
- Monitor market and E-commerce trends and competitive dynamics.
- Acquire, interpret, and socialize market trends impacting the Professional Contractor
- Transform data into actionable insights influencing the decisions and behavior of senior and executive level leaders
- Create and implement strategic learning plans to address the most critical questions for the business.
- Guide specific research development and execution using expertise in a wide variety of research methods.
- Manage your team to best support the NA region and portfolio of Stanley, Black & Decker brands
- Partner closely with full Strategy & Insights team, Category Management, Sales and Brand Marketing teams
- Manage priorities, budgets and timelines to meet the business needs
- 10-15% Travel
The Person:
As the Senior Manager of Retail Commercial Insights you will be part of the Tools & Outdoor team leading the insights integration and go-to-market strategies for new product development. You will also help to optimize current business while supporting strategic partnerships with retailers and distributors. You can synthesize many sources and types of data and insights to create clear recommendations. You will both create insights to support the business, while leading several direct reports as your supporting team to help drive NA sales growth
You also have:
- Bachelor’s Degree, MBA a plus
- 6+ years of professional experience in Insights, Brand Marketing, Shopper Marketing, and/or Category Management
- Experience blending quantitative & qualitative learning for a clear story and action plan
- Experience in analyzing and drawing conclusions from point-of-sale data, browsing and buying behavior, and consumer perceptions
- Experience building holistic learning plans that integrate data, trends, primary and secondary research
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to influence Senior Leadership
- Proven ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders, including external partners
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in managing and developing others
