| Position Summary |
Senior Systems Validation Engineer responsible for managing and maintaining traceability between customer and internal requirements, prioritizing road systems and map features, and establishing clear feature definitions and success criteria.
| Main Duties and Responsibilities |
- Collect, manage and maintain traceability between customer and internal specifications.
- Prioritize road systems and map features across customers, data availability, internal goals and several conflicting inputs.
- Generate and disseminate formal definitions for all map features.
- Work with engineering teams to maintain deadlines for map production and ensure quality assurance across the map features.
- Work in team to develop success criteria for all map features.
- Work in team to develop testing procedures for automated validation of map building efforts.
- Collect, index, validate and store diverse datasets for the regression targeting each map feature.
- Mentoring coworkers on best practices and requirement gathering.
- Ability to present to both internal and external customers.
- Work with internal teams to perform trade studies to evaluate new methods and technologies to improve efficiency while maintaining requirement compliance and quality targets.
- Develop validation methods for new content and new technologies
- Capable of performing validation activities as required
| Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies |
- Bachelor’s Degree with major course work in GIS, geography, planning, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with focus on Production/Manufacturing
- (5) years of professional experience in either GIS mapping or Data Quality Management.
- Strong understanding of change management processes and production workflows
- Experience with process documentation and process mapping
- Proven ability to perform root cause analysis
- Experience using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D)
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical mindset with focus on data quality and customer impact
- Experience in database-driven production environments
- Knowledge of production release or publishing workflows
- Continuous improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies)
| Assets |
- Experience in GIS or map building areas is a plus.
- Automotive or sensor experience is a plus.
- Experience with robotics or automated vehicular controls is a plus
| Work Environment |
- Works in a fast-paced office environment with multiple priorities and competing demands.
- Regular office hours with some requirements for additional work during busy times.
- May work for long periods reviewing data on computer.
