Overview
Humanscale is seeking a hands-on, business-minded AI Solutions Engineer to identify, develop, and implement AI solutions that automate processes, improve efficiency, strengthen decision-making, and support innovation across the organization.
Working across business and technical teams, this role will deliver prototypes and production-ready solutions in areas such as document processing, workflow automation, knowledge search, reporting, customer support, and predictive analytics. Responsibilities include evaluating business opportunities, developing AI-enabled applications, integrating enterprise systems, improving data quality and governance, and supporting the responsible adoption of AI technologies across the business.
This is a full-time engineering role focused on building practical solutions that solve real business problems. You will work directly with stakeholders to identify opportunities, validate concepts, develop prototypes, and deploy scalable applications that drive measurable business value.
Responsibilities
- Research and document business use cases where AI can positively impact Humanscale's processes, workflows, and decision-making.
- Meet with stakeholders across departments to understand business challenges, repetitive tasks, and opportunities for automation or AI-assisted workflows.
- Analyze and prioritize AI initiatives based on business value, feasibility, data readiness, user experience, security, and long-term maintainability.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI-driven solutions and proof-of-concepts.
- Build prototypes, internal tools, dashboards, and enterprise applications using AI technologies and modern development frameworks.
- Support initiatives involving generative AI, intelligent search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), document understanding, workflow automation, virtual assistants, chatbots, and agent-based experiences.
- Develop solutions using Python, Streamlit, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, APIs, Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, Teams, Dataverse, and related technologies.
- Evaluate and compare AI platforms, tools, and technologies to determine their applicability to business use cases.
- Collaborate with IT, Security, Data Management, business users, and functional leaders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, document management, reporting, and workflow automation platforms.
- Analyze data, identify trends, and develop models that support operational improvements and business insights.
- Design evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and human-review processes that ensure trustworthy and effective AI outcomes.
- Drive data cleansing, data standardization, and data governance initiatives that improve AI effectiveness.
- Measure business outcomes including adoption, efficiency gains, quality improvements, error reduction, and user satisfaction.
- Test, debug, document, monitor, support, and continuously improve AI solutions throughout their lifecycle.
- Document technical designs, business cases, recommendations, pilot results, and implementation plans.
- Stay informed on emerging AI trends, technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Support responsible AI practices by considering privacy, security, governance, compliance, and ethical considerations in all solutions.
- Present findings, recommendations, and technical concepts clearly to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience in software development, analytics, data engineering, AI, machine learning, automation, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications using large language models, enterprise AI platforms, or cloud AI services.
- Experience working with AI platforms and tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, or similar technologies.
- 2+ years of programming experience in Python or other modern programming languages.
- Strong technical foundation in APIs, JSON, structured data, SQL, databases, and common data formats such as CSV and Excel.
- Experience building applications, automations, integrations, or workflows using modern development frameworks and technologies.
- Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, document management, workflow automation, or similar business platforms.
- Experience working with databases, reporting platforms, analytics solutions, or data engineering technologies.
- Experience with workflow automation tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, retrieval and grounding techniques, model evaluation, hallucination risk, and human-in-the-loop review processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across business and technical teams.
- Ability to work onsite in Piscataway, NJ a minimum of three days per week.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Dataverse, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, or related Microsoft AI technologies.
- Experience with Streamlit, FastAPI, Flask, React, Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, or modern software development practices.
- Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector search, embeddings, document intelligence, agent workflows, or structured-output pipelines.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Graph, Power BI, and enterprise identity concepts.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, customer care, finance, sales, operations, product development, or enterprise data initiatives.
- Relevant Microsoft, Azure, Power Platform, Data, or AI certifications.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams) to manage daily correspondence, create business documentation, analyze data, and support collaboration across the organization.

Salary Range: $105,541 - $153,943
