Position Overview
We're seeking a Field Service Technician based in Louisville, KY to provide on-site and remote technical support to our clients throughout Louisville, Southern Indiana, and the surrounding counties. This is a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same — you'll be out in the field solving real problems for real people, backed by a supportive team that values quality work and a customer-first attitude above all else.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site and remote support for desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, printers, and peripherals
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network infrastructure
- Perform scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and patch management for client environments
- Document all work thoroughly and accurately in our ticketing system — attention to detail is essential
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, keeping them informed every step of the way
- Manage time and prioritize across multiple client sites in a fast-paced workday
- Collaborate with remote support and escalation teams to resolve issues efficiently
- Represent The AME Group with professionalism and a customer-first mindset at every client interaction
Requirements
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT support, field service, or a similar technical role
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems, common business software, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues independently
- Exceptional attention to detail — you document your work carefully and follow through until the job is truly done
- A customer-first attitude — you're patient, approachable, and committed to an excellent client experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation for travel to client sites
- Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills
- CompTIA Network+ and/or Security+ certifications
- Experience with managed services tools (PSA/RMM platforms)
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, and server administration
- Experience supporting small and medium-sized businesses across multiple industries
