Description

Who: HealtheConnections, a respected national leader in providing health information exchange (HIE) services for NYS-based organizations.

What:  We’re looking for a Clinical Data Quality Analyst with a background in healthcare, health information technology (HIT), or clinical data quality to help ensure complete, accurate, and reliable data is available through our health information exchange.

Why: Our data comes from thousands of healthcare facilities across New York State. In this role, you’ll review and troubleshoot healthcare data, work with customers and healthcare technology vendors, and collaborate with internal teams to improve data quality and resolve issues.

This role is a strong fit for someone with clinical data experience who enjoys solving problems, working with others, and applying technical knowledge to improve healthcare data.

Talk to us to see if this is a fit for you!

What You'll Spend Your Time Doing

  • 30% Clinical Data Review & Troubleshooting: Review healthcare data and investigate HL7/FHIR issues and discrepancies.
  • 20% Data Quality & Analysis: Analyze data for accuracy, completeness and consistency and identify improvement opportunities.
  • 25% Problem Resolution: Identify root causes and coordinate corrections and improvements.
  • 15% Collaboration: Work with customers, EMR/HIT vendors and internal teams to investigate issues and implement solutions.
  • 10% Documentation & Data Tools: Document findings and processes and use tools such as SQL and Tableau to support analysis.

Competencies & Experience

  • Associate degree or higher in HIT, Healthcare, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience and certifications will be considered.
  • Professional experience in healthcare or health information technology required.
  • 2+ years of professional experience working with clinical data preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD/CCD-A, and terminology standards preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQL, database concepts, and data analysis tools such as Tableau.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and navigate complex situations.

Not sure you meet all qualifications? Research shows that women and members of other under-represented groups tend to not apply to jobs when they think they may not meet every qualification, when, in fact, they do! We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and strongly encourage you to apply.

It is important to HealtheConnections that the hiring process is driven by humans. Artificial intelligence (AI) tools do not influence which candidates HealtheConnections chooses to interview or hire.

You’re a great fit for us if you’re good at…

  • Approaching problems with an analytical mindset, close attention to detail, and a desire to find a solution.
  • Being flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities or tasks.
  • Managing your own time.
  • Interacting with partners and stakeholders.

We’re a great fit for you if you’re looking for…

  • A high-performance, high-energy, collaborative environment. One of the best things about working here is our team. They’re smart, supportive, passionate, and among the best in the business.
  • A dynamic industry. Health information exchange has exciting opportunities on the horizon as the healthcare industry evolves, both within NYS and on the national stage.
  • Strong benefits. We cover the cost of medical insurance for employees along with a full suite of benefits, including 401k matching, generous vacation/holiday time, unlimited sick time, flexibility in work hours and hybrid/remote work, and more.
  • Work that makes a difference in your community. We’re proud to make an impact on the daily lives of health professionals and support improved health outcomes for individuals right here in New York State.

We like to say that we’re “casually competent” – we’re not pretentious, but we know our stuff. Our people are talented, our culture is vibrant, and our work is at the top of its class. Even better, our customers genuinely like working with us, and we’ve seen firsthand how what we do has made a positive impact on our community.

$60,000 - $72,000 is the lowest to highest salary that we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and seniority.
