Description
Overview
In this role, you will lead the people, craft, and production engine that brings Bio-Rad’s digital experiences to life across bio-rad.com (BRC) and MyBio-Rad. Reporting to the Head of eBusiness, this role manages the Web Content, UX Design & Research, and Front-End Development functions, and is accountable for the quality, throughput, and operational health of the web production system that serves both the public facing website (BRC) and the signed-in (MyBio-Rad) experience.
As the Associate Director, you’ll set standards across SXO, content, design, research, front-end engineering, and site performance; owns the production operating model, intake, and capacity planning; and ensures consistent execution against marketing requests, the eBusiness roadmap, and overall organizational needs. Partnering closely with the BRC and MyBio-Rad Product Owners, this leader translates prioritized product decisions into shipped, high-quality experiences while developing managers, building team capability, and driving continuous improvement in how digital workflows from request to launch. The role operates in a highly regulated environment and ensures all production work adheres to applicable privacy, accessibility, regulatory, and quality standards.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Develop and grow the managers behind Web Content, UX Design & Research, and Front-End Development, setting clear performance expectations, building bench strength, and creating career pathways that raise the craft ceiling across every web discipline.
- Design and run the operating model, intake, prioritization, and capacity planning that serve Product Owners and Marketing as a shared-services function, delivering transparent trade-offs and predictable, on-time delivery across bio-rad.com and MyBio-Rad.
- Partner closely with the BRC and MyBio-Rad Product Owners and the eCommerce Director to translate prioritized roadmap decisions into launched work, serving as the production-side counterpart to product strategy and resolving cross-team dependencies before they slow delivery.
- Establish and uphold standards across SEO/AEO, content, design, research, A/B testing, front-end engineering, and site performance (Core Web Vitals), ensuring every experience meets accessibility, brand, and regulatory standards in a highly regulated environment.
- Drive measurable improvement and innovation in how work gets done by defining and acting on production KPIs while continuously modernizing tooling, automation, ways of working, and vendor partnerships to increase quality, speed, and team capacity over time.
What You Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, or related field preferred.
- Work Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience in strategy development and execution (required)
- Production operating model expertise — Proven ability to build and run intake, capacity planning, prioritization frameworks, and throughput measurement for shared-services teams, making defensible, data-informed trade-offs that balance speed, quality, and cost.
- Executive presence and cross-functional influence — Strong stakeholder management skills with a track record of influencing senior leaders and partner peers across IT, Marketing, and Commercial, and translating complex technical, design, and operational concepts into clear executive narratives.
- Deep web platform and regulated-industry knowledge — Hands-on command of modern web ecosystems (CMS, eCommerce, personalization, analytics, SEO/SEM, design systems, A/B testing) and web performance (Core Web Vitals), paired with working knowledge of privacy (GDPR, CCPA), accessibility (WCAG), and digital governance standards.
