Job Description

Job Title: H&S Manager Events & Broadcast

At Global, we think big, work hard, and never stand still. We’re the proud home of the best media and entertainment brands on the planet, driven by our talented and passionate people. Our mission? To make everyone’s day brighter - our Globallers, our audiences, our partners, and our communities. Whether we’re in the studio, building world-class technology, or securing record Outdoor advertising partnerships, we make sure we’re doing it as a team.

Your Role: H&S Manager Events & Broadcast

As H&S Manager Events & Broadcast, you will provide practical, expert health and safety support across Global’s events, broadcast, podcast studios and creative production activity.

Working closely with the Head of H&S Events and Broadcast, operational and production teams, contractors and external partners, you will help embed health and safety into planning and delivery. Your work will support the safe delivery of live events, outside broadcasts, experiential activity, content production and relevant workplace activity across the UK and internationally.

This role includes UK and international travel and may require out-of-hours support for incidents, escalations and high-risk operational activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance and assurance: Support the implementation and continual improvement of Global’s health and safety management system. Carry out assurance activity, audits and inspections, and help ensure events and broadcast activity aligns with Global’s Integrated Management System and ISO 45001 approach.
  • Operational support: Provide timely, pragmatic health and safety advice to event, broadcast and production teams. Support risk assessment, planning, decision-making and on-site delivery for complex and high-profile activity.
  • Podcast studio health and safety: Lead health and safety management for Global’s podcast studios. Standardise processes and guidance, provide practical advice to studio teams, and act as the lead safety adviser for studio operations. Plan and support property audits, inspections and improvement actions to maintain safe, consistent and effective studio environments.
  • Contractor management: Support robust contractor assurance processes, including reviewing health and safety documentation, monitoring compliance and working collaboratively with suppliers and partners to manage risk.
  • Incident management and improvement: Support accident and incident reporting, investigation and follow-up actions. Identify learning opportunities and contribute to practical improvements in policies, guidance and ways of working.
  • Training and capability: Maintain and support health and safety competence and training records. Develop clear guidance, tools and training sessions that build confidence and consistent health and safety practice across the workforce.
  • Workplace safety support: Provide advice on relevant property and workplace activity, including first aid, fire safety, Display Screen Equipment assessments, internal event safety reviews and contractor activity.

What You’ll Love About This Role

Think Big: Help shape a positive, practical health and safety culture across a varied portfolio of events, broadcast, podcast studios and creative activity.

Own It: Use your professional judgement to provide clear advice and support teams to manage risk effectively.

Keep it Simple: Turn health and safety requirements into proportionate, accessible guidance that works in a fast-moving operational environment.

Better Together: Build strong relationships with colleagues, production teams, contractors and external partners to deliver safer outcomes.

What Success Looks Like

In your first few months, you’ll have:

  • Built trusted working relationships with key operational, production, podcast studio and workplace stakeholders.
  • Developed a strong understanding of Global’s events, broadcast, podcast studio and production activity, including its main risks and controls.
  • Supported assurance activity and helped deliver clear, practical actions to improve compliance and consistency.
  • Established a clear programme of health and safety guidance, audits and inspections for the podcast studios.
  • Delivered or supported relevant health and safety guidance, training or communications.

What You’ll Need

  • Health and safety expertise: Demonstrable experience of health and safety management, relevant legislation and industry guidance.
  • Relevant operational experience: Experience supporting live events, media, entertainment, broadcast, production, studio or similarly complex operational environments.
  • Risk management: Confidence in assessing risk, advising stakeholders, supporting incident investigations and applying proportionate controls.
  • Contractor assurance: Experience working with contractors and suppliers to review documentation, monitor standards and support safe delivery.
  • Communication and influencing: The ability to explain health and safety requirements clearly and build constructive relationships with varied stakeholders.
  • Organisation and judgement: Strong planning skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities calmly and effectively.
  • Qualification: A NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.
