Marine Commissioning Technician

We are recruiting on behalf of a client for a skilled Marine Commissioning Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in commissioning marine engines and generators, excellent fault-finding abilities, and a methodical approach to testing, troubleshooting and maintaining marine power systems.

Responsibilities:

• Test and commission marine engines, generators, power equipment, control panels and remote monitoring systems.
• Compile system operation manuals and maintain accurate records of commissioning activities.
• Programme controllers, provide operational training to customers, and assist with design and testing activities as required.
• Perform electrical fault-finding and provide maintenance support to the service department.
• Ensure all commissioning activities are conducted safely and accurately.

Requirements:

• Trade Test qualification as an Electrician or Auto Electrician.
• At least five years’ experience in marine commissioning of generators and engines.
• Proven commissioning experience with power generation equipment.
• Experience programming controllers such as Deep Sea, DEIF and Automatskin.
• Computer literacy, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and safety awareness.
