We are committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment where team members can thrive and contribute to our shared success.

Key Responsibilities

The Fabricator is responsible for producing high-quality metal components, frames, and related signage assemblies in support of Gable’s manufacturing operations. This role works from shop drawings, work orders, and team direction to cut, weld, assemble, repair, and prepare fabricated elements used in custom signage and branded environment projects.
This position plays a direct role in meeting production schedules, quality standards, and labor expectations. The Fabricator is expected to perform work safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized work area, identifying issues early, and coordinating with the Fabrication Team Lead and other production team members as needed.
  • Review work orders, shop drawings, prints, and instructions to plan fabrication steps, material needs, and tool requirements.
  • Fabricate signage components and related metal assemblies by cutting, grinding, fitting, burning, and welding various metals.
  • Perform MIG welding, brazing, and metal cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for welding, then set up, align, assemble, and tack components for final fabrication.
  • Repair fabricated components and metal signage as needed using appropriate welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Build up worn or defective surfaces and complete rework as required to meet production and quality standards.
  • Cut up or dismantle obsolete signage and scrap materials when directed.
  • Support downstream production needs by preparing completed fabricated parts for handoff, staging, or next-step processing.
  • Produce work that meets dimensional, fit, finish, and weld quality requirements.
  • Inspect completed work before release to the next stage of production to verify accuracy and completeness.
  • Use labor, materials, tools, and equipment responsibly to complete work within expected timeframes.
  • Help minimize scrap, rework, and material waste through careful workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Identify and communicate drawing discrepancies, missing information, material shortages, or production issues promptly.
  • Assist with moving, staging, loading, unloading, and storing materials as needed to support shop workflow.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Fabrication Team Lead and other production team members regarding job status and support needs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and disciplined work area at all times.
  • Operate tools, welding equipment, and shop machinery safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform routine care and basic upkeep of tools and fabrication equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Follow all applicable OSHA, MOSH, and company safety requirements.
  • Use required PPE and follow established safe work practices for welding, cutting, lifting, and material handling.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned within the normal scope of the role.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to three years of metal fabrication, welding, or related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MIG welding, brazing, grinding, cutting, and general metal fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and follow shop drawings, fabrication prints, work orders, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to use tape measures, squares, levels, and other common measuring tools accurately.
  • Ability to safely operate common fabrication tools and equipment, including welding equipment, grinders, saws, drills, and other shop tools.
  • Experience working with aluminum, steel, and other fabrication materials preferred.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, workmanship, safety, and production quality.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while contributing effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
