The Accounting Junior Associate supports the Accounting Manager in executing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial data, and contributing to the department's process improvement and automation initiatives.Why IE University?

Responsibilities
Your role as a Accounting Junior Associatewill involve:
- Assist in the daily operations of general accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Perform bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes across the organization.
- Review and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with local (Spanish GAAP/PGC) and international accounting regulations.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports for management, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Contribute to process improvements and the automation of administrative and accounting tasks.
- Address internal queries and provide accounting-related support to other departments.
- Participate in internal projects and cross-functional initiatives as required.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance position.
- Knowledge of accounting principles under Spanish GAAP (PGC); exposure to US GAAP or IFRS is a plus.
- Experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI is valued.
- Prior experience in an audit or accounting role at a Big Four firm is a plus.
- Experience and willingness to learn and apply AI-driven tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, etc.) in administrative and accounting processes.
- Strong written and spoken English; Spanish proficiency required.
